12.4 million viewers for this game. Imagine those kinda numbers watching your channel. Iowa has sold out every game all year. Even road games, where teams usually sell 3,000 tickets per game, when Iowa comes to town people drive six hours to watch and the opponent gets a sold out auditorium. The Iowa Hawkeyes Women's basketball team started their season by selling 53,000 tickets to play on the football field.

As a South Carolina fan, Iowa and Clark still scare me. She beat us last year by herself and she could definitely do it again. South Carolina is the only undefeated team in the country and still a prohibitive favorite to win the championship. It's a very deep team with scorers outside, mid-range and under the basket. But Carolina really doesn't have a single transformative player like Clark or Connecticut's Page Bueckers. We have only one player who can create her own shot, Fulwiley, and she's still just a Freshman. But they probably need her on the court to win it all. Unless the team really plays up to their potential like when they beat North Carolina by 40 earlier in the tournament. The last two games, however, they have been a mess, and very lucky to win.

Thanks for this - I'm a Hawkeye. Nobody matches up well with SC's lineup, and like you say, the ability of a transformative player on a good team is the wild card for Iowa. I am old enough to remember the days when girls were required to play half-court basketball because the prevailing thinking was that all that running on a full court would endanger the reproductive organs. Things started to change when I was in High School and then Title IX passed in 1972. By 1974, when I graduated, schools already had girls basketball teams playing full court. It is really satisfying to see how far we have come.

In case on one told em yet.a..Iowa and LSU played for the National Title last year...LSU won that game. And during the final minutes of that game, with LSU leading by 15, LSU Star Trash Talker, Angel Reese, got up in Caitlin Clarks face and pointed at her 'ring' finger and also did the famous John Cena "I cant see you" hand gesture at Caitlin. Clark did not reacto to Reese and tried to walk away, but Reese, being the Low Character Human she is, jumped back in front of Caitlin several times and continued with the 'in your face' hand gestures... This created alot of the extra drama and interest in this rematch.

@@darnell-mooney I disagree. There is one end game for offensive possessions, points. What metric allows you to say there is no arguing about finishing an offensive possession with a score? I can provide several metrics demonstrating a very high volume and comparable efficiency in this regard. Your use of "significantly" in either case, and suggesting there is no argument without evidence is simply bias talk with no support besides your belief. With these two, you just have to have data? The defense is indeed more situational with CC and Paige applies more here. I do remember Paige from High-School and have watched both for a long time. Like you say, both can control play. I appreciate your opinion, but that's all it is. I just see two completely different elite players that, if you do compare, it has to be metrics.

"This time it's Iowa" was said because LSU and Iowa met for the championship last year and LSU came out victorious. This year they met before then. Clark shot about 9-20 from 3 this game, so she definitely misses haha. What a great game - enjoyed your reactions! This women's march madness was more exciting than the men's this year. Helps to have Caitlin Curry/Clark. Angel Reese is good but she really has to work on her handle & transition game to get into the WNBA and actually play very much IMO. Everyone knows her name, but Flau'jae Johnson (only a sophomore w/a perfect looking jumper) was clearly LSU's best player w/the best handle and most athletic; her layup 4 halftime was the most athletic play of the game,, even though Clark went crazy . LSU's PG got worked by everyone she guarded. But it might not have mattered - although Reese did get hurt, so that sucks. I just don't get how they left that girl guarding her for so long; either of them, shoulda been Johnson then entire game, she's the only one that could even try on their team.

Yeah, you are only seeing the highlights. When you see the full game there are still plenty of air balls and bricks being shot. Although none by Clark! Also Angel Reese is 6'3" and can't dunk. South Carolina's star center is 6'7" and cannot dunk. By comparison two of the smallest men to ever play in the NBA, 5'7" Spud Webb and 5'3"(!) Mugsy Bogues could both dunk.

Women's game has quarters plus 5 foul bonus per quarter and bonus equals 2 shots not 1 and 1. They are all newer rules and make for a much better game. Men's game won't change from halves because they get a an extra 2 ad breaks because of them. Women can also advance the ball to half court with timeouts under a minute left in the game. All these women's rule match pro and international rules.

Many LSU top players were transfers from other colleges. None of Iowas best players are transfers and are original to their school. LSU is thought of as a sports factory with low academics for this reason, it’s also a reason a lot of Americans don’t have a lot of respect for LSU

LSU is a very black school in a state that is a culture shock in terms of culture and lifestyles. Even Midwest rednecks would be shocked at life in the country of LA... so I think we know the real reason why. Why do you think Joe Burrow is so loved?

While they both are good at what they do comparing Reese to Clark is weird.. Reese plays like Draymond Green and Clark plays like Steph Curry.. total different games and skill levels. I'm not trying to knock Reese at all she's just not on the same level unless we're talking about rebounding and getting in other teams heads. Reese is also surrounded by blue chip recruits at LSU while Clark isn't. I hope both of these ladies excel in the WNBA it should be great for the league in general if they can carry their game over.
@tyreek.6815

We're comparing a Center/PF to a point guard. Lol. It's not a knock at all. There's a reason why there's more greats at PG, SG, and SF, than PF, and Center. You can not compare the two. I will say Reese does has more potential in terms of their games. If Reese works on being more offensively minded then she would be a better ball player than Clark. I will say Reeses IQ is unmatched. She just doesn't care too much about offense so you cant compare them.

People love a rivalry. however contrived, between two very talented players. If they happen to be different colors , you luck into 2x the hype and clicks and viewers, driven by melanin alone. It is what it is. Remember Bird/Magic college finals? Same deal. Both young ladies handled the tournament and everything that comes with it very well.
