Before I bought my first boat I practiced with a buddies trailer and learned docking with his boat. I also read Boating For Dummies and a few other books.

State, County, or City should invest in a sign listing #1 basic. 1. Backup with hands on bottom of steering wheel, move hands on bottom of steering wheel in direction you want trailer to go.

When backing up a small trailer with some vehicles you cannot see the trailer behind the truck until you're already about to jackknife. If you can see out the rear window it's very helpful to drop the tailgate giving you a view of the small trailer. In addition it's always helpful to pull forward extra before backing up so that you start straight

Idiot notes; they need to hold the bottom of the steering wheel-simplifies thought commands with instinct commands on which way to turn the wheel-already idiots. Smallest turns too-don't pull forward to straighten, begin backing with wheels already at 45 degrees. Also should be included for idiots. Tiny trailer, hand roll to the waters edge, wobble truck to it, attach, back an entire 6 feet-load sky sideways.

Congrats on the new trailer. Find an open lot, put some cones down and be patient; the learning curve is steep.

Take it slow at first and just small turns of the steering wheel. Don't under estimate practice. I have been doing it 40 years backing down ramps in the dark at bass tournaments with dozens watching. It's harder than it looks

I grew up and live 3 miles from Lake Superior. I worked at a local marina when I was a kid and I've seen a lot of boat ramps in my time. Never in my life have I seen a boat ramp with curbs. Who was the engineer that came up with this quackery and why? I know you have to be a little smarter than the average bear to do this, but some of these people just don't have it. Love your channel and the entertainment it brings

I do not understand what possesses people to turn the wheel the moment they start to reverse. Why? Why would you do that? Start straight and correct from there.

I'm surprised someone hasn't invented magnetic poles for those trailers. When you go to back it up, put a tall pole on each fender so you can see it from the vehicle, that would have to make backing it up so much easier. If the fenders are plastic, clamp them on.

Big truck small trailer- can be very hard to actually see the trailer. -back up camera can throw you off too because its all backwards to what your use to in your mind. I found it best to old school it: drop the tailgate and prop your arm on the passenger seat, lift yourself up and look back through the rear window down through the tailgate to where you have a visual on the tiny trailer. If your just using the side mirrors; by the time you see the trailer, it’s already way too far sideways and you get that “wobble”

Looks like in US cops are everywhere…not really The Land of the Free. A lot of the people seen around boat ramp are quite large…not a judgement, just an observation.

If you've watched enough of these videos, there always seems to be an idle police car with flashing lights at the ramp but never any officers doing anything. I'm from the US (but not Florida thankfully) and I have never understood what the cops are doing there other than wasting taxpayer money.
