I have an 8 year old daughter. I have not seen her since she was 5. I never abused or neglected her in any way. I am a #TargetedParent in a high conflict custody battle, which means, I was attacked in court by a wealthy and vindictive ex. He had a lawyer and I didn’t; he had over 100k to spend building a case against me and I didn’t. I did not have the means to defend myself against these attacks and so I have been wrongfully separated from my daughter under the guise that this is “in her best interest” when in fact this is a form of domestic violence known as parental alienation, which occurs when one parent misuses and weaponizes the legal system in order to cut the other parent out of their child’s life in order to punish them for the relationship failing. It has nothing to do with what is in the child’s best interest, it is enacted purely out of spite, vindictiveness and a desire for revenge. Some of the things that have been used against me during this #custodybattle include: #breastfeeding, letting my daughter skip pre-school, letting her go outside on a windy day, letting her stand on the sofa next to me, telling her I miss her, reading her a children’s book (I will explain that one in a separate post) and MY BROTHER’S SUICIDE. You get the picture. I am not a perfect person, or mom, there is no such thing. But I am not a danger to my child. If you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in our broken legal system you can build a case against anyone for anything. I also went to jail for requesting to see my daughter, and for texting the father of my child that we should have a truce. (Which were technically violations of a restraining order) I know that sounds insane, so I have included a picture of the warrant for my arrest. I am telling the truth. I’m not hiding anything. I have signed over my HIPAA rights to my ex and the courts so that they could read my entire medical records, (including years of therapy and psychological and psychiatric evaluations. The court ordered me to have these evaluations, but then they would not accept my clean bill of mental health. This happens to people a lot, I have learned. I have no mental illness; although my mental state is being used against me in court anyway, I am having a normal human reaction to being separated from my child) I did this so that they could see I’m not hiding anything. It’s probably illegal for the courts to pressure me to do that, but no one regulates custody battles so illegal things happen in family court everyday, and basic human rights are violated. I’m trying to change that. Also, BIPOC families suffer disproportionately, so I want to use my #whitepriveledge here for good. Consider this: my daughter can see ANY adult except for me, her own mother, I can see ANY child except for my daughter. I never abused or neglected her, I don’t have a criminal record, substance abuse issue, or mental health problem. So why would a court determine that separating a 4 year old girl from her loving mother would be in her “best interest”? I am working on a series of videos detailing everything I’ve learned about America’s broken justice system over the past 6 years. I won’t remain silent while my daughter and I are tortured by my ex, his family, and the state of NJ. It is not possible for me to fight multi millionaires in a corrupt family court system, because the system was designed to keep the rich in power. And since my ex father in law is the President and CEO of #TheActorsFund he is very wealthy and powerful and has a lot of connections in NJ. I can’t defend myself in court against them, because I don’t have enough money, but that doesn’t mean I am a bad mom or that I don’t deserve to see my daughter. And more importantly, she deserves to be able to see her MOM! If this seems “crazy” to you, please keep in mind that I am a human being who has been separated from my child for almost 4 years. As a result I am suffering from c-ptsd. My goal is to raise awareness and to help other victims. I am not “playing the victim” I am standing up for my daughters basic human rights. The children suffer the most. She has the right to know and love both sides of her family, and she is being denied those rights. I tag celebrities who support The Actors Fund because I think they have a right to know where their money is going, and I am also hopeful to find a celebrity advocate. Over the years I have been issued gag orders by the court, and coerced into signing a non-disclosure agreement to protect my ex father in law, #JoeBenincasa’s name. It was never my intention to harm his image, but I have to stand up for my daughter! If my ex husband would drop his case and let me see my daughter I wouldn’t be doing this. His (my ex father in law’s) only concern as he was attacking me in court and taking my child away for no reason, other than his son refused to coparent, was that I not talk to a long list of celebrities including #AlecBaldwin #MerylStreep #BetteMidler #BrianStokesMitchell and #LinManuelMiranda; my only concern is my daughter! I love my daughter with all of my heart and I want us to be reunited, which is also what she wants but her voice is not being heard. I want to be a voice for #AlienatedChildren. I want to see my kid! Millions of #AlienatedParents are good people, good parents, functioning members of society who work hard and pay our child support payments. We deserve to be in our children’s lives. Edit: someone pointed out that they can separate the personal actions of the CEO of #TheActorsFund from the good work the organization does, and of course, that’s true. You can choose not to eat at Chick-fil-a because you support #lgtbq rights, and you can choose not to donate to the actors fund because you support #HumanRights . The point is you should be informed to make that choice. Also, I’m tired of living in the shadows, we have to shed light on these issues or nothing is ever going to change. People will defend The Actors Fund simply because a fund is a lot of money, and they want that money. Guess what? The lawyers, judges, and “experts” involved in this case want that money too. I think it also bears mentioning that I never went after a penny of their money, I never filed for custody, child support or alimony - I never took a single court action against my ex! In fact, I have been paying child support to him for years, as well as a portion of his legal expenses. So this is not an attempt to alienate gone awry. This has been 100% him against me for six years. Starting when our daughter was two and a half, and soon she will be nine. I have missed her past four birthdays...If I could wish it away and co-parent I would do so in a heartbeat. I never wanted to be in the system; I live in a constant state of shock that it has come this this. I was naive about our legal system, until this happened to me. The government separating small children from their parents? For profit? False allegations accepted? Without any proof?! It shocks the conscience. News flash: our current legal system is slavery; an extension of slavery where humans can still be bought and sold. But this is not even a “normal” custody battle, this is extreme cruel and unusual punishment, even for a custody battle. Murderers and heroin addicts still get more visitation than my daughter and I get. I am not a murderer or a heroin addict. I am an ex pre-school teacher though. I have no criminal record or substance abuse problem. What would compel the courts to make such a drastic decision? Could it be collusion? The money? The social worker who evaluated my mental state when I was in jail thought so. Her exact words were “oh this is definitely collusion! You need to get out of this court.” For the last couple years, my daughter and I only talk once a week for 15 minutes. No facetime. Of course they are threatening to take that away too.. This is legal abuse. (These are wealthy and powerful people weaponizing the system as only wealthy and powerful people can do.) I have no idea why. Everyone of course thinks I cheated on my ex or something. He is lying to the courts and telling them I was physically and emotionally abusive to him. He never needed any evidence, which is very convenient because there isn’t any. I am inclined to believe he had pre-existing anger issues due to the fact that his first wife ran off with her 75 year old tennis instructor, combined with anger issues from what he described to me as an “abusive” childhood. It’s time for a change. I just want to see my daughter! Please help.
