All About The Kenya Tree Soft Coral or Cauliflower Leather

7 ай бұрынLet's talk about a great beginner coral or even one for experts that are looking for spots to fill in on their reef! Today we are discussing the Kenya Tree coral. These are a very hardy soft coral that grow quick, are easy to frag, and can handle spikes in the aquarium. Doesn't get any better than that does it?!

In my experience, this is the one coral every new hobbyist should have.. I’ve been in the hobby for 20+ yrs, i still love having them even if they take over

My hubby got me some coral last night for the first time. Kenya tree was one of them and I really like it. For a beginner reef tank it looks beautiful in the tank already, opened up over night, and thanks to your video I know what to expect and prepare for. Awesome 🤩

I tried gluing it onto rocks and everything and it kept getting free, now I’ve trapped the stem between two rocks

Can you do all about TEARDROP Butterflyfish? I have one and there’s no online studies on the captive longevity they have like the raccoon and Auriga have. It says they are moderate and peaceful, mine is very friendly even if other fish attack it.

Hope these are more hardy than anemone's. I don't have the money for the nerd level reef setups that anemones thrive in. Spend 70$ they do fine for a month then randomly die or get sucked into a powerhead

So about an inch below the sand, the Kenya tree is actually hanging on to a piece of frag rock. That keeps it anchored to give it a look that it is just buried in the sand.

I don't have a ton of knowledge on the subject, but I believe this is just the way they spread. I have heard they tend to pinch of bits so they can propagate. I would still do some extra research though, just wanted to give my 2 cents

Sounds like they are trying to reproduce around the tank. Just to be safe, test your parameters to make sure everything’s in check.

Man, i stay away from these things. I had one Kenya tree, as he said in the video. They break apart and just start growing all over the place. Be careful, cause they can and will take over your tank.
