Congrats on a mind-bendingly good performance of a show equally impressive and beautiful. WGI is clearly evolving, and I think Broken City is the best thing to happen to the activity in a while: the shows they put on aren’t just fun, thought provoking, clean, exciting, etc., but also offer an emotional impact I’ll never forget, especially since it’s tied to marching percussion, this weird pastime that we’ve all put poured our lives into. A snare cam like this, up close and personal, in the rehearsal gym where it feels like home, with the lack of an audience leaving a silence over the quiet parts of the show, reminds me of what it was like to do indoor in high school. Since then, life has gotten in the way (I know that’s not an excuse but what can I do), and from the outside looking in I admire these shows. I turn 21 this summer, maybe I should find some local indoor group to audition for… Anyways, many thanks to Mike Jackson / Kevin Shah / Adam Watts (these are just the amazing people I have come to know of), Broken City staff, and ofc you talented, CLEAN performers, for creating shows I hold dear to my heart.

This is only my interpretation, and a quite literal one at that, but I believe it's about arguing/revenge in relationships, hence the "here we go again" and "there are only losers in the fog of war" lyrics. Additionally, each section trades off or "argues" throughout the show with the first real ensemble moment not happening until the very end. Cede also means to give up, which is why the white flags are raised at the end, obviously signaling a surrender rather than fighting back. I'm sure there are dozens of other nuances sprinkled throughout the show, and I feel like I could talk for hours just about the examples mentioned above, but that seems to be the general overview.
