My soulmate and soon to be wife just passed January 8th. She was 26. We have been together for almost 4 years and we’re homeless fentanyl addicts that had finally gotten sober. I got clean first showed her it could be done it took her a bit longer but she had finally got clean and god took her. This song was meant for me to hear this brought me to my knees. This is an absolute masterpiece and you are so so talented. This is going to be a go to for years to come when i’m missing her. I love you Hope Lanae in this life and the next and the next after that. 🖤♾️

Same! It's funny because it brought me to tears at one point. First time hearing the song and the singer both. Near the middle, second time the harmonica hit, gave me tears and shortly after a bit of a smile and laughter. Then the lyrics said "I saw you laugh through the tears" or something like that, and I was pretty surprised. Definitely felt connected to the song. Nice twang in the voice, too. Makes me wanna learn harmonica even more

I don't get why the narrator of this tale in the song completely disregards intervening in the life of this woman he is clearly interested in. It seems to me a tale of a young man who doesn't have the balls to shoot his shot at this girl and then proceeds to judge her silently while she crystal meth kills herself out of some pathological interpretation of Abrahamic values or pathological Abrahamic value who is to say. What is the take away from this song? What I am I supposed to observe with the help of the narrator or what questions does he bring up?
@SchuyTV3 ай бұрын
I've know a lot of people for a long time,meth and heroin are 2 drugs that have the power to change you forever. You can try to help them all you want. My friend got out of prison for using meth and when he got out I told him he could use my spare car to get to and from a new job. He relapsed and totaled my car, fled the scene and the cops knocked on my door. I told them I lent it to my friend. When they questioned him he told them I was lying. This was someone I knew for 20 years. They are clean now but things are different. His personality is changed forever. You have to understand these drugs can cause people to change forever. Not every one but iv met more people it's ruined than not, people who came from good places. Sometimes there is simply nothing you can do or say to help, no matter how hard you try.

@@graham8624 let me explain this for you. Every sentence has presuppositions, lyrics are a juxtaposition of sentences. I'm not suggesting this song has no presuppositions or meaning what I'm saying is that what it is saying is garbage because it tries to justify inaction and holier than thou judgement because we're all born in sin whatever the fuck that means while in reality I would argue the person described in this song is just being a giant puss and douche.
