I agree...it's better than you would think! LOVE this idea of a Bronte binge.

That was interesting 🙂 I'm just reading lesser known books by Brontë sisters, just finished Agnes Grey and immediately started reading The Professor. May say I'm joining your Brontë binge, albeit few years later.

I was just thinking about this project! I'm glad my videos are relevant to your current plans :) I wasn't very fond of Agnes Grey, but want to reread it. What did you think of it?

@@AmandaQuotidianBooks While I enjoyed reading the book in general, as a kind of research on works of Bronte sisters, I ended up disliking the title character... Agnes Grey appeared to be rather dull person, judgmental and not very understanding towards the others. She saw no flaws in herself or her doings while everybody she met, adults and children alike, were such imperfect and faulty characters. In the result the book felt like a long list of complaints about everybody and everything... not a very enjoyable reading.

This is on my TBR list, but I'm still trying to decide which edition to get. So I was wondering if you could tell me about the book itself? I'm interested in buying that same edition by Arcturus publishing, but haven't been able to find any info about the cover, binding, price/quality etc. I like the Penguin Clothbound and Puffin Children's Classics, I think this edition would look good next to them. :) Thank you in advance. :)

It is a petite, clothbound hardcover with debossed, colored title and details. It is more durable than the Penguin Clothbound Classics as the back of the book is not decorated and, therefore, can't be rubbed off. I've taken pains when reading to not place my fingers on the designs. I suspect they will rub off over time, but not as severely as the Penguins because these debossings are deeper. The paper is of good quality, though I've had some formatting issues on a couple pages in another title of this edition. The binding isn't too stiff and is comfortable to read the first time. The books are well designed and well put together. They appear durable except for the debossed designs. Overall, I would recommend if you're looking for a fancy hardcover, but I would have purchased a paperback, myself, which I could read without worrying about preserving the book. I hope that helps!

@@AmandaQuotidianBooks Thank you very much, it's exactly all the info I was looking for. :) That's what I'm worried about, paying for something that's goin to rub off, and the best price I can get isn't exactly inviting. lol I'm going to look at other editions and see if I can get something a bit better, if not, I might end up buying this one. Thank you, again. :)
