The Bronx Zoo (also historically the Bronx Zoological Park and the Bronx Zoological Gardens) is a zoo within Bronx Park in the Bronx, New York. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States by area and is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States by area, comprising 265 acres (107 ha) of park lands and naturalistic habitats separated by the Bronx River. On average, the zoo has 2.15 million visitors each year as of 2009. The zoo's original permanent buildings, known as Astor Court, were designed as a series of Beaux-Arts pavilions grouped around the large circular sea lion pool. The Rainey Memorial Gates were designed by sculptor Paul Manship in 1934 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
Today, the Bronx Zoo is world-renowned for its large and diverse animal collection, and its award-winning exhibitions. The zoo is part of an integrated system of four zoos and one aquarium managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and it is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

Paid exhibits and attractions
One admission to a premium exhibit costs between $12 to 14 per person per exhibit if paid separately. The fee for unlimited admission grants the ticket holder free access to all attractions for that day. Family memberships include full access.

I know what you're talking about. I live here in east tremont bronx a block away from the bronx zoo, your not kidding about this area here in the bronx, the bronx zoo is safer if you let out all the dangerous animals out, than walking the streets in the neighborhood, it is like the wild west here dangerous and crazy here day and night.

@@christine-hf8fu Fun Fact I have never been to New York City but in my Hometown of Portland Oregon I have seen women with Pink , Purple , Green , & Blue Hair and Tattoos. 100 to 200 years ago these women would have been in a Circus Freak Show. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@davidwesley2525 awesome ♥ I must admit. I am kind of a wild looking new yorker myself, I have black blue hair, and 26 ear Cartridge and earlobe Pericings that go up my entire ear, even New yorkers stopped always say they love my look, But never that I looked like a weirdo Haha 😂 😘

Around 27 mins, sharing with baboons are Nubian ibex; there were Rock hyrax in there when I went a few years ago as well - great mixed exhibit

Hi Tom I loved every minute of this video, The Wild Asia Monorail is my favorite part of the Whole zoo Especially love the Elephants. The snake at 55:00 I think is a Amazon tree boa, also at 1:20:37 is A hyena not an African wild dog but other than that I still enjoyed the video

I saw a KZfaq video on the Dallas Zoo , their monorail is identical to the Bronx Zoo monorail but they stopped running it.

Tom, Great video! I couldn't hear you when you were on the monorail. I had the volume up all the way. I had to put the close caption on to hear what you were saying. The people that was sitting beside you were SO LOUD and disrespectful 😡 but after you got off the monorail I could hear you better.

In My Hometown of Portland Oregon the Oregon Zoo " less than 3 miles west of Downtown Portland Oregon " has an Excellent Elephant 🐘 exhibit. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
