Neat knucks. Any reason you printed them vertically instead of horizontally? Seems like you could have saved time if you didn't have to bother with cleaning up the supports.

That is true. I was trying to achieve the counter gravity effect. Wind to the end of the clip to see the simulation of the flow.

Thanks! I think it was 12% of pure tin and 88% of scrape copper pipes ( by weight )

So wondering why these were printed in this particularly orientation? Seem as though the amount of time removing supports is far to much to go through. I have printed many of the pla knuckles never needed to remove support.

Hi, Brig Valdes. Thanks for your reaction. At the very end of the video I have the simulation of the flow inside of the mold. The main idea was to test the anti gravity technique. I hope the animation explains your curiosity.

Look at the last few seconds of the video to see how the melt flow inside the mold.

This is NOT counter-gravity casting. The whole point of counter-gravity is you avoid pouring so as to avoid creation of bifilms. This is just pouring into a runner that feeds the mold from beneath, a very standard approach. To get counter-gravity you would have to insert the mold into a crucible of molten metal.
