yeah, he'll probably live as long he has a body to return to. bones don't last forever, but they do last a very long time. i wouldn't be surprised if he lived 500-600 years.

I can see Brook's awakening being something like sending his opponents to the spirit world or something like that. Like, everyone's physical bodies are still on earth, but their spirits are sent to the spirit world. Brook, having been able to control his spirit for some time, has a distinct advantage there whereas everyone else has no idea what's going on or how to control their spirit bodies. I could see something like that being a possibility.

Remember Brook's soul looked for his body for a year before he found it. I think that the Yomi-Yomi no Mi can allow the soul to stay in the world of the living even if it does not find or insert the body. Or maybe the soul does not need the original body. Just like zoan-type devil fruits can be given to inanimate objects, Yomi-Yomi no Mi can allow the soul to enter any body that is vacant. Brook tried so hard to find his original body for Laboon the whale can recognize him.

What if Brooks awakening was like opening the gap between the underworld and wherever Brook is. Brook could use this to trap others inside this demon realm. This would make sense considering he was able to put "the winds of the underworld" into his sword.Your possession idea seems like it could be that as well.

Wouldn't it be cool for brook to recover his former body as his fruit awakens? Like his soul power explodes and reconstructs his body and all damage he takes while it's awakens is instantly negated. I feel that being revived into ashes would be even more OP, as he would be like a floating cloud of ash, and not even Haki could hurt him. He'd just have to watch out for area of effect attacks, and even then if he learns armament Haki he could protect from that.

Not really, after Brook dies the second time the fruit gets reborn. So it just takes longer to be reborn than other fruits.

I have the greatest idea for a one piece character. You know how one piece characters can make armament haki on non living things such as zoro and his swords. Imagine a character who can put armament haki on air its self. Someone who can create spears of armament haki or walls out of thin air. And later can make himself giant(like gear third) by layering armament haki on top of another layer of armament haki. Oda where you at bro!!!

Have you heard of the theory that soul power is the next "haki" type thing. Luffy's Red Hawk and Sanji's leg thing and Zoro's Asura are soul powers?

Would be cool but I'm not too sure about that. Basically Sanji's diable jambe is due to spinning or maybe due to Judge's experiences and Luffy's red hawk would be him heating his arm so much using gear 2nd he creates fire. Zoro's Asura would be based on demons rather than "souls". But yeah all this could be wrong or not and soul power could exist.

Well, while jewelry bonne's power could make her live for eternity i guess it's the same for brook. Jewelry Bonne's body can change his age and body at will which she can just use a 20yr old body for eternity. For brook however he can also live for eternity since he only have his bone which doesn't have flesh in it so it's pretty much the same when u think about it.

If you're cremated, I imagine you come back similar to the ash ghosts from We're Still Here. And he would have subtle fire powers. More heat than flame, but same results.

If I had to guess what he could do if he awakened, my guess would be the power to possess objects and maybe even people, if he possesses an object he can use it as an extension of himself, like how he can channel power through his sword, which i'm pretty sure was a normal cane sword. Maybe even the power to physically manifest his soul into a phantom that can manipulate objects while being immune to almost all forms of physical attack.
