If my first husband was living today would be his 86th birthday I know he is celebrating in heaven with Jesus. I will be taking new flowers to his grave today. Please pray for my sister she will be joining him in heaven soon, cancer has beaten her and she is very weak and in so much pain.

My maternal grandparents were ranchers in SE OKlahoma. He was born in 1880 and was a Territorial Sheriff in Indian Territory, OK. He wore denim overalls, a long-sleeved cotton shirt, and a denim jeans jacket year-round. He claimed that your body sweating inside the long sleeve shirt and jacket with the overalls kept your body cool due to evaporation of the sweat. He passed away in 1950--before I was born--so I never met him. However I have been to the ranch of an uncle in SE OK several times in the summertime. In his late 80s, he still did all of the daily chores. One summer, he was out in a pasture when we arrived. It was 112 degrees--and he was burning stumps. He was dressed like my grandfather did, and claimed he was very comfortable. He carried water with him, but the heat never seemed to bother him.

I noticed the last time you moved the coop some of the chickens were out and they followed the coop. I was amazed. lol I don't know about chicken habits but it just suprised me that they did that.And also, yes it is fun watching the animals, but don't misunderstand, because it is you and Brooke that makes it worth watching because you are so positive and funny, and just heartwarming people. You remind me and I'm sure others, of my growing up with my family, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We would just laugh and have a good time doing the most normal things. I haven't had that in many years and you bring it all back to me. So don't think it is just the animals we come to see. It is your family that brings the good feelings.

I left home at 17 and have lived in over half of the states. Watching this channel is like going home. The idioms and cadence of your speech reminds me of people in my hometown. The stories you tell take me back to going to the feed store, gas station, or sitting at the local diner listening to the farmers talk with my Dad. Watching you do chores reminds me of when I was able to work with animals and be outside all day. Your channel is one of my happy places.

Growing up we had a Duroc pig and she was house trained. She was attached to me and when she was a baby she would lay on my back and watch tv with me. She loved watching tv and she ruled the house with our dog. Our poodle knew to stay away from Petunia. She was so fun. She knew or sensed when we would come home from school and could hear her a couple houses down crying from us. She loved it when it was time to irrigate the lawn . Fun memories

Yes on the long sleeves. I married into a farm family and both husband and wife wore long sleeves and large brimed straw hats. Mother inlaw also wore white gloves. I thought they were nuts. It is cooler after you start to sweat. Pigs were used on our farm to make a small pond water tight. They will smooth the soil so it holds water. They were moved after it started filling up.
