Time for another #GirlTalk video, this time where we get down to the details on several PERIOD / MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS that are available on the market. Are you looking for something more effective, more convenient, more comfortable, or more affordable? Be sure to watch this video!

You guys have been requesting a period products video for so long, AND HERE WE ARE! This is a continuation of our #Periods101 series we started awhile back. We got very close and personal in this video haha as we tried out 5 different period products:
1. Regular Tampons
2. Organic Tampons
3. Flex Menstrual Disk
4. Saalt Menstrual Cup
5. Period Panties
The first day I was SHOCKED to discover that organic tampons are NOT my friend lol! I had the worst cramps of my life!🙄 The next two days, I tried out the period cups and... OMG! Definitely a BIG FAN and will be hopping on the menstrual cup train for the future! PAD PEOPLE, you guys will absolutely love the period panties let me tell you... comfy and clean! Plus, they last throughout the day, which we all know is uncommon for a pad-like product. (The above is based on my own unique experience, and any opinion is expressly my own. We were not sponsored for this video, and bodies across the spectrum may react differently or experience different results to any of these products.)
You can find the actual products that we reviewed in this video, through the following affiliate links:
* Tampax Pure - rstyle.me/+FEPuq0MZ46ln8r17i1...
* Flex Menstrual Discs - rstyle.me/+NnAlWszrm1B4B9Gpez...
* Saalt Menstrual Cup - rstyle.me/+e-WQ8W14oQe7BgY5m-...
* Knixteen Underwear - bit.ly/3apkfme
All together, I absolutely loved testing the period products in this video, and hopefully gave you enough information and personal experience to help y’all pick out a new and different period products that will work for you!

Same. I was bleeding extremely heavy and through everything I own. I did soooo much research, and still had to go in blind due to not knowing my cervix level but I know now I need to buy a low cervix cup. A lot of people who have trouble with cups, usually have the wrong size/wrong firmness and stuff so I made sure I knew everything. Now, everything is super easy!
@neanea228
@neanea228 Жыл бұрын
@@Lilsonya262there are much smaller cup diameters, you most likely had one too big. Because obviously if you have a 48 diameter cup, and need a 41 diameter cup, then yes you’ll feel uncomfortable. But you also probably needed a softer cup! I recommend maybe a salt soft small or salt teen if you haven’t tried them yet! If I’m wrong, then ignore me, I just like to inform! But I definitely recommend them, they usually work really well for people who’ve had pribkems, and work for lower cervix’s. If you have a high cervix, keep the stem! 🖤

Speaking as a millenial... Gen Z is on track to completely remove the taboo on talking openly about your period. Bailey is out here live-narrating her experience with all these different products with ZERO awkwardness, and WE LOVE TO SEE IT. I wish I would've had access to a video like this when I first got my period or that I had been exposed to this level of comfort with talking about it! Huge kudos to Bailey and Brooklyn and all these other Gen Z women for openly, honestly, and cheerfully talking about periods in a way that is totally, totally normal. Gen Z for President.

It’s nice to have things to relate to.. but at the same time it’s pretty disgusting and impolite to openly talk about your period like this, and my generation ALWAYS tries to normalize things that shouldn’t be normalized. I’d rather be a baby boomer or gen x, the 80’s seemed nice. K bye.

For me, whenever I put in a cup I find it easier to insert it while standing. And don’t forget that when you are trying to take it out you DON’T just pull the tail! You have to make sure to grip on to the base of the cup and pinch it together to break the suction seal the cup creates inside, it help to squat for this. If you just pull it will not work and you can injure yourself, if you use an IUD for birth control it can cause it to be torn out with the suction. I personally 100% love and prefer a cup compared to pads and tampons. It is extremely comfortable, granted you feel nothing at all. You can wear it pretty much all day with no worries depending on your flow, unlike with pads there is no mess or smell, I don’t have to carry extra stuff around or worry about hiding trash and odor. And in the long run it is way cheaper.

Baily dying from cramps is the most relatable things I've ever seen. You honestly can’t feel tampons if you put them in right. The chemicals are definitely not the best but they won’t change your cramps at all or anything. I’m not sure what was happening to Bailey lol but that doesn’t happen to most people. It was probably a bad shape for her body but she has other tampons that work for her. You can definitely find a brand that works for you and then it’s super easy. I was really scared to try using tampons at first but now I’m fine with it (no extra cramps or anything) and I actually started using a menstrual cup recently. If you want to try that, you can find an organic one that actually reduces cramps so that could be a good thing to try if you want an alternative to pads that doesn’t hurt and doesn’t have chemicals. It’s hard to use at first but with a little bit of practice, it’s really easy. I would definitely recommend that if you want to try something new:)

The cups for me are reeeeeaaaaal easy and not messy at all to get out. I would never wear the underwear as a pad, but is is a nice addition for when you are wearing a cup, just in case it’s not in 100% correctly and there is a small leak. The combination of both is heavenly. (Though I do struggle a lot putting it in correctly and a lot of times am just to lazy to use them).

Thank you for this! I'm a late bloomer and haven't started but I always watch videos like these to expect the unexpected! This helped a lot because I also want to make sure I know good items to use, brands, etc., before I start so I can have an easy process of buying the items! This also is a very nice video because it helps regulate the talk of periods, talking about it shouldn't be such an awkward conversation! It should be a natural thing, the only reason I would be scared to talk about mine is because sometimes my mom is kinda... I don't know how to say it, pushy, oversupportive, etc., I feel like she would treat me so awkwardly, being all comforting, offering me random stuff... But I get it! She has it to and she might think that it would be nice if she did that, but to me those types of people get on my nerves, and since most people get moody during periods I wanna tell her the day I start, not to be so pushy or oversupportive. I don't wanna yell at her from annoyance so it would be a good heads up I guess. Anyways, I mostly talked to myself in that section but thanks for the video! Really prepared me and now I feel a bit more relaxed about it, since I'm one who is kinda scared for my period to come! Thank you, I hope you have a great day, and I will definitely come to watch you more!

Definitely recommend checking out reusable discs like Nixit, Lumma, Cora, and now Saalt came out with one. And for newbies, doing research (like quizzes on period sites) help with picking the right cup! A lot of brands like Lena and Saalt have sensitive/softer versions for people who get bad cramps or don't like the firmer ones, and sometimes cups are too long or wide depending on someone's cervix height or how much they work out.

just a little tip for the cup!!!: i always find it easier to put in/take out while i’m in the shower and it works out because while i’m on my period i like showering twice a day anyways. and don’t just pull it out by the pull tab!! make sure you grab the base and fold it like you do when inserting it. it comes with practice but it’s so worth it :)

So exciting to see this kind of video!!! Just a tip for the cup: I don’t think they recommend using the tip as a way of removing because it can snap off & it doesn’t break the suction/seal which I’m pretty sure can cause a prolapsed uterus. Definitely check that out tho! Other than that, I LOVE my cup and it has made my super heavy, painful periods so much more manageable!!

I used “regular” Tampons for years, and then I’ll actually got a few boxes of organic tampons from my church and was using them for a while. Once they ran out they went and got the “regular“ tampons because that’s what I was always used to buying and my body reacted to them by burning and itching and it was just awful. I've been using a menstrual cup for about a year now, and couldn't be happier with it! At first, I had a really hard time putting it in correctly without it leaking during the day. Also had a hard time taking it out. It took a couple of months of use before really getting comfortable with it, inserting it the right way and taking it out without getting the whole bloody mess scene, but once I learned how to do that in a good way, I totally fell in love with the cup.
