Just surfing KZfaq, then came across this song and video. I like Brooks and Dunn and thought, “A song I haven’t heard before!” Then video just literally made me cry. I immigrated from the Philippines. Faced many years of uncertainty and fear. I see my life in this song and in this video. Thank you, Brooks and Dunn!

I saw Brooks & Dunn on their last tour when they came to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Standing in the crowd listening to them sing this song was amazing. At the end when the cannons went off a dozen soldiers came out on stage. When the song was over all you could hear were applause and shouts for 10 minutes. It was one of the most amazing thing I've ever been apart of. Brooks & Dunn are legends. Oklahoma loves Brooks & Dunn and our soldiers! God Bless America!

I'm a Canadian with HUGE respect for all that the great USA has meant to the world!! (No, you haven't been perfect, but indeed u HAVE been an amazing light showing all that's possible for humanity.) For a few years I was a long haul trucker moving freight all over your great land. The odd night at huge US truckstops, thinking this song & the USA weren't truly appreciated for GREATNESS, I would crank up this song then hold my CB mike near the speaker. Many US truckstops were nonstop chatter. After playing this right until the end, I'd let go of the mike, & usually u could hear a pin drop for at least a minute. This song most DEFINITELY captures the spirit of all that's amazing abt a nation with NO equal !! (U MUST NOT lose your freedoms & autonomy!! BIG BROTHER!!)

America came from a large British colony, you slaughtered the natives, your history has loopholes (eg: Columbus never actually set foot in America and believed the earth was a giant pear), you were one of the last country’s to outlaw slavery, you built your own measurement system for no reason, your poverty is inescapable, and while I could go on and on, I will just say: your president is an idiot

@@electricheisenberg5723 We aren't the last country to outlaw it because there is still slavery in parts of Africa and the Middle-East. Besides, we didn't have slavery for very long, and the USA evolved faster than basically any other country. we had slavery, yes. but look at where we are at now. In just 2-4 generations (or lifetimes), we went from slavery, segregation and sexism to being the most diverse and powerful nation in the world where everyone of all races and both genders has equal rights. It's unfortunate that some of the people in my generation don't understand how great this country is and how much it evolved for the better in such a short period of time.

My wife and I saw 20 years ago Brooks & Dunn on Sept 13, 2001. Yes, two days after the 9/11 attack. Great show. Sawyer Brown, opened the show and did a great job of performing a great version of Kokomo! And Brooks and Dunn, well they opened the show, with a song up until that time they had closed their show with "Only in America". We still have the confetti that was shot out into the audience. They actually opened the show with their lead guitarist doing a Jimi Hendrix version of the Star Bangled Banner as Ronnie Dunn read a statement to the crowd. Just before this a small plane flew over the fairgrounds in Allegan, Michigan as the crowd turned to silence as no planes were flying for the last 48 hours.

As I sit here watching the protests at Mt. Rushmore, I had to come here to listen to this song. Those protesters live in what is still - for now - the most free nation in the world. I thank God for the privilege of being born here. I thank God for grandparents who made the trip here. I thank God for the melting pot of Irish, Scot, Polish, African, Asian and dozens of others groups who make us what we are - including the native Americans. We have all benefited from the experiences of many from around the world. The national motto -"E Pluribus Unum" is not "from one, many" but "from many, one". We are all "One Nation, Under God". God Bless America!

As for American "freedom" that's a joke. Try to defend yourself or flee from a mob of antifa and then tell me how "free" you are as you sit in prison with your 400 year sentence. Sorry, the time for delusional myths about America is over. Now it time to deal with reality and the facts on the ground.

@@electricheisenberg5723 Depends on the country and their system of government. In many countries it is almost impossible to become a doctor unless you are politically connected or born into the right class or group. In China, for example, you might be able to become a doctor if your parents belong to the Communist Party and they have done whatever the party asked for many years. If you don't bow to the Communist Party you would never get to become a doctor. In America you can hate the party in power and still find a way to become a doctor. Never forget that day. We were deeply saddened, but it also brought the country and our allies together. An unwavering anger in our hearts. This message in the song has much more meaning. I am probably Brooks & Dunn's biggest fan. Thanks again for your time and consideration of the soul's lost on 9/11 and the sacrifice of the troops who should be getting more respect than what is given. Brooks & Dinner are a powerful duo. They can make you happy and dance. They can show respect for the country in mourning. They can inspire you to be all you can be. May God Bless America and May God Bless Brooks & Dinner in all they do.

This song and video are so beautiful and really speak to how most people view this incredible country we live in. It tells the story of how everyone is welcome and has opportunities beyond imagination in nearly every other country on earth. This song and video are over 20 years old and it shows people of all different backgrounds, races, ages, occupations and they are ALL happy and successful. Compare that to what we see in this country now and you can see that something has gone terribly wrong. When I was growing up, we were friendly and welcoming to all people, regardless of race or national origin and I would have never imagined we would live in a world so full of hate and division as we do today. This video portrays what America is supposed to be and it breaks my heart we've strayed so far from it. I'm white and two of the strongest and most successful people I know are young black men who came from heartbreaking poverty and hardship and went on to build incredibly successful lives in this great country. One grew up without a father in the most dangerous, crime ridden neighborhood in a big city, witnessing violence and depravity around him on a daily basis and went on to build an incredible life with a lucrative career, beautiful home and sent both of his sons to college. The other is an immigrant from a war-torn country in Africa whose family fled civil war in their country twice by the time he was 11 and then came here, where he excelled in college and sports, got his degree, has a great career and now owns 6 rental properties by the age of 30! These incredible men I am blessed to call my friends are a testament to the amazing opportunities available to all people in this great country of ours🇺🇲❤️ God Bless America 🇺🇸
