Tanana seems to be a mother. One Kenai does loves but fears. 1:14 Kenai leaning back🤣 😂 🤣 he knew what was coming. She did grab on Kenai's face🤣 😂 🤣 in the beginning. Didn't seem to matter that Kenai got turned into a bear. She still grab his muzzle. But Tanana still called Kenai "honey" (which could be a little nickname that Tanana calls him.)

Joaquin Phoenix really did an awesome job with that scream. You can hear the fear in Kenai's screaming realizing what had happen to him. Joaquin Phoenix just pulled it off so well.

Tanana is so caring especially towards Kenai. It' clear she still believes in Kenai or that the love Kenai heart will return. After all She still called him "honey." And told Kenai where to go if wanted to turn back into a human. And at the end she seemed so proud Kenai.

After Tanana tells Kenai he don't speak bear at 0:44 I can hear Kenai probably utter "Huh" in surpised and at 0:45 "Hmm" before looking at the river to see his reflection revealing himself to be a bear. Also the ratio change from Kenai being Human to Bear after he wakes up. Probably intentional on the director and producers part.

Yep Kenai needed to learn a good lesson here. By being turned into the very thing that he killed he needed to learn what it means to truly love and become a man to overcome his prejudice, pride, and hate towards bears by becoming one. That's the lesson that Sitka had taught him. Just saying. 🤷

Tanana is seens like a mother figure. Especially towards Kenai. Tanana has also called Kenai "honey." (Seem like a nickname) And not only did she try to claim Kenai down after he realizes he's been transformed into a bear. But she still talks to him like he's a human being. Most of all at the end she look like she was very proud of Kenai.

Fun fact; Joaquin Phoenix actually had a nervous breakdown (not in this scene) but during Sitka death. While recording the scene Joaquin Phoenix was in tears. Aaron Blaise was caught up that Joaquin Phoenix swear at him because he forgot to say cut. It was so dramatic that the scene was cut short.

Yeah, me too. Kenai had no idea he's been transformed. Once he see his new bear body. He starts to panic realizing that he now cover in fur and has paws. But it only took wigging his small tail to make him realize he got turned into a bear🤣

Tbh, this movie does not deserve a live action remake, Kenai may be one of the most underrated disney characters, but the way Joaquin Phoenix delivered the role, you can't replace Phoenix with someone else to play Kenai, he delivered it well, some scenes he took too serious and it looked amazing.... many more.

It wasn't successful enough to warrant a live action remake. Which is a blessing because I love this movie the way it is. The only reason they would do it I think is if they wanna do more Lion King stuff and make the bears more realistic. Or they wanna dive into the lore and culture of the people. Which is possible. But unlikely given its underrated status. I'm glad so many of my favorite Disney movies are underrated for that reason alone. No remakes. I dread the Tangled remake that will eventually come to be 😔

But if she did, then Kenai wouldn’t learn his lesson. Sitka turned him into a bear for a reason. And since Denahi doesn’t realize that he’s hunting down his own brother (who was turned into a bear), Kenai is realizing how the bears felt when they were being hunted.

Didn't do anything wrong?! - dude you provoked a perilous fight between man and beast causing the death of your older brother and then blamed the whole thing on the bear and killed her so The Great Spirits were disturbed by your senseless act of murder which Sitka transformed you into a bear to get a different perspective on your actions. Plain and simple! Your totem itself was the Bear of Love - it was revealed that Tanana, the tribe's shaman, tells him that his totem will reveal itself in the future. - besides animals always steal food all the time plus you forgot to tie the damn net thoroughly - which you and your brothers can go back to the stream and fish.
