thanks, but one thing you should rectify: it isn't a LASER printer, it's a LED printer (just look it up), which actually is BETTER. It's cheaper, faster, smaller and more reliable (due to less moving parts) than a laser printer. The print quality is comparable to a laser printer, it could be a bit lower due to the stationary LED's that can vary slightly from the light they emit, but hardly noticeable, if at all. You can also see it's a LED printer in the way the toner cartridges are placed, which is different than on a laser printer. I am by no means a 'printer expert', I'm just doing research to buy one myself. I know LED printers are a mystery to most (I never heard of it either), even some companies market them as 'laser printers' because the term LED printers is unknown. But a review should of course tell us what it actually is, right?

Thanks for this review. I'm looking to replace my MFC-9840CDW (7 years old!) The only difference I can see is the size of the flatbed scanner. This looks like it maxes out at A4/letter sized whereas my old machine goes up to legal (A5?) size. But it's not a feature I need often, so that's a trade-off I could live with. I also looked up the price of the cartridges and it looks like the cost per cartridge is about the same.

Literally just bought one of these to replace a faulty Dell E525w. I will never go back to Inkjets, laser printers are brilliant! My only gripe was I found the other model you did a video on, the Brother DCP-L8410CDW and kind of wishing I bought that one instead! I dont want the faff of sending it back so will stick with the MFC-L3750CDW. EDIT: Can this print onto card? The dell would always fail and streak everything badly.

Great choice. I think thin card up to around 160gsm would work. Best check the specs page to be sure and also which feed tray to use.

Can it print to photo paper? Looking at the quality of the images on the paper document, I'd be interested tonuse this for photographic printing (not pro BTW, just amateur use).

Not onto glossy photo paper, but you can get satin finish laser paper which has a nice finish.

Hi I was looking to replace my Brother MFC-J6520DW with either a Brother MFC J5740DW or Brother MFC-L3570CDW for my home office, most of my work is around formal documents and using bonded paper for the purpose and regularly scanning documents. Which would you recommend please PS like the clear and detailed reviews, thanks

Hi Simon. From what you describe I would certainly recommend this model. However, Brother support is superb, so with an investment like this I would give them a call with your full list of uses and they will point you toward the best model.

How to setup this printer to allow Both Side Printing , Every time when i click both Side printing , it asks me tio put one sheet in the manual tray and it pics the second opaper from the bottom tray. Which results in two pages again. Hwo come its a both page printing then.

@Geekanoids, I have recently purchased this printer and am having terrible difficulty with printing photos. The colours are all over the shop. I'm on MacOS 14.4.1 and have calibrated the printer with no luck. Any advice?

Hi thanks for the in-depth review! I have a lower model of black and white Brother printer that I want to upgrade. Does this print full black well? I often design my document to have full black background with white text and my current printer prints out disgusting smudge looking output. Thanks again!

This cannot print borderless. You would need an inkjet really to achieve edge to edge printing.
