Reminder that the game first came out exclusively for the Xbox 360 on August 7th, 2013 until September 3rd with both PS3 and PC ports. It then got ported on both PS4 and Xbox One in mid-2015. Mobile verisons (both IOS and Android) on October 22nd, 2015 and May 28th, 2016. And the Switch version is released in May 28th, 2019.

Let’s be honest, the game came out a long time ago and it’s beautiful anyway, the developers just need this remake to make money again, because they haven’t had the imagination for a good new thing for a long time 😅

You mean the SAME developers of the highly awarded "It Takes Two"? Give them a break man they made this because they COULD and now with a bigger team he could finally give it the remake it deserves. Will they make money? YES. Only because they deserve to. It will be showcased to a whole new generation to traumatize. I personally can't wait to cry again in 4k.

Yep, 90% of remakes are unnecesary and this is no exception, the idea of remaking a 10 year old game for a slight graphics improvement is crazy

@@Jesus-yp9xx Remakes are supposed to be remakes, not a fresh coat of paint. Nothing about the game has changed gameplay wise or anything. A real remake would be 2016 ratchet & clank, people didn't love it but it was most def a remake.

I just checked community screenshots on steam and game still hold up thanks to art style and scenery, low resolution textures doesn't hold it back. It's short story driven experience, idk who asked for remake... they would be better of making spiritual successor then yet another remake.

The new style is terribly generic and it loses all that Painterly look and Charm the original have. If they wanted to Remake this then they should've stayed with the original Art style and up the resolution of the models, while adding better lighting and shaders. Make it even more Painterly even. This is like taking Zelda Skyward Sword and remaking it in the style of Zelda Twilight Princess. Pointless and unnecessary. Pass.

Not everyone played the original,or start playing games since 2000 or 90',many started playing games from 2020(pandemic year) or a little early. For those are these remakes and remasters,for newcomers that don't want to play the crappy graphics version. I play games since 97 so i understand WHY they do this....as i want a Remake with this level of work,for Soul Reaver 1,2 and Defiance and maybe for Prince of Persia trilogy,even if i already played the originals,by today standards as much i liked those i can't see them as great compared to what is coming. Hellblade 2,Black Myth Wukong level in detail,that is why the PC Master Race exists ,otherwise why new GPU and CPU every 2 years max ? I have a friend that only this Chrismas will buy his first Console ever ,a PS5. So far he played on PC,League of Legends and CS,for him,this is the first time he will play AAA games in his life and he is 27y old. For those like him are these remakes and remasters,not for us,who played games since Net Cafés were a thing.

It can only be a remaster if the game is utilising the same source code or is replicating most of the elements from the original 1:1. Clearly this game is a remake since it's featuring entirely new cutscenes, motion/performance capture, redesigned character models, new aesthetics, etc. I think the music has been updated too. If they were to retell the story in any way then it would be a reimagining/reboot which this game obviously isn't.

@@glodusmuspell9069 No, like most others you're totally confused about the terminologies. I recommended you look up the differences between remakes, remasters and reimaginings since there are a few videos that go into it with great detail. What you're describing in a reimagining or a reboot. Not a remake. Remakes can 100% replicate old gameplay loops, dialogue and story. But if they're written under a new code, engine and has entirely reworked visuals like we see here then that's when it should be labelled a remake. A remaster is essentially the same game released before left completely untouched but with minor enhancements like resolution and/or FPS boosts. Sometimes they'll improve the textures but that would still fall into the definition of a remaster. A great example is The Last of Us from the PS3 when it got ported to PS4. That was a remaster. But The Last of US Part I (2022) was a complete major overhaul replicating the same exact real-time cutscenes, audio and gameplay but with new visuals. That's a remake. It's not the same game from the PS3 because of the drastic changes. Brothers is a little different because it's implementing newer things like reimagined cutscenes and includes a new co-op mode.

Not to take away from this title, but I don't see why I'd bother buying a remake of a game that took me 4 hours to 100%. If the games anymore than 20 dollars, you can only really market this towards a new audience. Gameplay wise it's nothing memorable.

Really botched this. I love this game. Why bulldoze the original artstyle with "better graphics"? It like Disney's CGI Lion King remake that we have all since forgotten about. The original is timeless. This remake is overindulgent and in bad taste. It's fine to re-release the game but the new paint job is generic and frankly ugly.
