TJ thank you for being you. Thank you for stepping out and taking the risk so many got shut down for. I saw something tonight I thought I would never see.

While this song is obviously seen and felt as a anthem for those who are gay, it can just as easily be that song for those who are simply different. Gay people are always “hanging out but not fitting in.” We often can pass, especially in small towns, work, or schools because we assimilate so we can be unscathed from the judgment of our piers who can be either dangerously cruel or full of understanding. One never knows how being or expressing oneself will be accepted when one is also young and unsure of oneself and how they are perceived. As we gain experience and wisdom with time we learn how to stand up and speak our truth. As the Trevor Project says, “it gets better.” The Brothers Osborne, with this song, will give many many young, gay, or just simply different people the knowledge that what they learn at this early stage in their life, will make aid them and make the stronger as they move forward in life. Thanks so much!

I sincerely hope all those saying "It doesn't matter" and "I don't care" are saying that to the people that actually matter and need to hear it: their sons, their daughters, nieces, nephews, etc. TJ is an adult and settled, and most of us will never meet him for more than a few moments if that -- the people close to you need hear that your love and acceptance is unconditional.
