This was a tough one to fit into one episode. This is one of the first cars I worked on as a little kid, and I had the chance to bring it back to life. I wanted to do SO MUCH MORE with it, but my job was to get it running and driving well enough for the owner to take the reigns. Mission accomplished!

Adam, my husband asked me to reach out to you and congratulate you for being so concise and on point with the information you provide in your KZfaq videos. Raymond a.k.a Coop, just wanted to give you that shout-out! Happy Labor Day to you and your family!

Good stuff. I appreciate the lack of fancy tools that are not required to make progess

What you do is save cars one at a time from going down even further to a point that they just don’t ever drive again. Great info, great backstory too!!

@@rustyspringsranch2471 I did, but not as well as I wanted to. The A pillar seal was hard as a rock reproduction. I replaced it with one I had in stock. I was marginally better closing. All of the windows need adjustment.

Adam, first time watching your videos. I had to tune in when I saw you were working on a 72 Cutlass Supreme convertible. I have a red 71 Supreme convertible with the same interior as that one that I have had since 1999. I also have an exhaust leak and was wondering if I could fix it myself like you did. It looks like a lot of work so I might take it to a professional. You did a great paint correction on that one, and looks very sharp. Thanks for the video. Will watch more in the future.

That burnt orange was a very common color for the Cutlass in 1972. Nice old convertible!

Keep posting those videos, Adam! The ideal KZfaq video view length is somewhere around 21 minutes, a lot of people (statistics) find that 1 hour is too long, so you could have made this a 3 part series. But hey, I'm not complaining!👍

I had a mountain of footage for this job....total time without being edited was an hour and a half. I told myself that if it was an hour or less when edited, I would send it as one video. If the owner had me do more with the car, I would have split it up for sure.

PAINT CODE 65 is the old Chevy" Hugger Orange" in 1969 it was code 72 and Pontiac called it Caracal Red IN 1970 They changed the code # to 65 but it still the same paint formula .

there is a hidden adjustment for the secondary flaps. If there isn't enough tensipon on the little spring it will bog. Look on the botton if the top plate, right side and you will find a set screw where you can add temsion to the flaps, keeping them from opening to quickly

It's been ages since I worked on a Cutlass. You might have some better luck on an Olds specific forum or FB page.

Try a small pump up sprayer to apply the degreaser. Goes much faster and better reach.

Without looking at the video, not 100% sure....but at the time, I had two 1972 GS's there in blue. One Stratomist blue stage1 suncoupe, and the other was a royal blue coupe.

Wow good job. 50 year old car NOW needs a carb and a fuel line, you don't like cleaning wheels ? How much old gas was in tank ? You didn't reattach the air filter vac hose. I can only imagine but I would bet it now needs a engine pipe and maybe exhaust manifolds. I don't think your a butcher, but you sure are a dope ! Lol. What's next?
