Old school tip (learned in cosmo school in the 70's) if you use just (20 or 30 volume) developer and q-tips you can carefully clean up any staining on the skin. I have always done this and never had any skin irritation problems. Be sure to clean skin with soap and water right after using developer.

Household bleach does the same thing tbh and is cheaper. Also no damage provided you wash off and use moisturizer

@@savvyselina360 yes but I use various red pigmented semi permanent dyes mixed in with my conditioner to maintain the color. I like Adore in shade Paprika best.

I’m a Loreal Hicolor Hilight OG user, I used it for yearss! Here’s my “pro tip”- When it’s time to do her roots, Color Oops her whole head first! Remove as much old/brown permanent color as you possible can and then reapply the loreal hicolor hilight shade with 30vol roots-mids and 40vol mids-ends! Maximum vibrancy!

The mention of the red bleeding reminds me of my friend last year, we were doing psych clinicals with a really strict professor and at the time she wore a head covering, which also covered her red hair, but she got sweaty during clinical and sweated out red sweat all over her face.

Oh my gosh you just unlocked a core memory of mine! Not exactly the same but in middle school I wanted to ~cool~ and dye my Virgin hair soooo bad but mom didn’t let me. This was around Halloween time so what did I end up finding as an innocent alternative? Halloween red spray dye at Walmart 😂 when I tell you I thought I rigged the system. I sprayed that bad boy on me the next morning and went to school. I was orange all over by 10am and my crush at the time thought my skin was burning and told me to go to the nurse asap hahaha. Thank you for this! I have the HiColor in Magenta and I have mostly virgin hair, bleached ends, and I’m nervous about putting this on my already lightened ends and also getting hot roots. This was super helpful!! I’m glad I picked a great color line!

Tried to distract myself from the task of dying my hair with KZfaq and the first video suggestion to come up was this one...ironically with the same hair dye I was going to use pictured in the thumbnail. SO FINE. I dyed my hair with Loreal Magenta and watched this video while processing. Thanks for keeping me on track. 😄

I never had an issue of the loreal high lift turning anything red ever. It never bled, didn't run, never stained anything.

BTW I dyed my brown hair bright red a few week's ago with a schwarzkopf box dye (raspberry passion) holt shit it works. Btw it never bleeds when i wash it but sometimes the drips are orange. Red is like the easiest colour to dye dark hair 😅😂

I love how this turned out!! I usually get my hair colored red at my aunt's salon, but it always seems to pull a little more purple than I'd like. I'm totally gonna get some of that brighter red from Lunar Tides and mix it with my conditioner, see if that helps to bring it closer to true red for longer

I use it to dye my daughter's hair since 4 years now. Her natural color is light brown but the first time we used it she had blue in the lengths. Now I only do the roots , she have a long bright red hair. Besides she used a color deposit mask every 2 weeks alternate with protein mask, shampoo and conditioner for red tones ,and that's she maintain her red color vibrant and healthy. She have a skin tone so pale , the color looks great on her and wherever we go she received a lot of compliments. I really like this product! Nice video by the way!👍👍👍🖤🖤🖤🖤

Red definitely bleeds EVERYWHERE. I dyed my hair a nice deep burgandy color with Revlon box dye and while the color is absolutely gorgeous, because it bleeds out so fast, it was just too expensive to keep up on. I tried everything to keep it for as long as I could; cold water rinse only, only washing once a week, using color depositing conditioner, etc. it still came out faster than anything and I felt like I was re-dying it every few weeks and this was with permanent hair color.

Deep ginger red does this too. I go from this reach deep burnt orange colour to a pale ginger by the time I have only one cm in roots ☹️ I do use direct colour/colour rinses too but as they take as long to apply to my hair as permanent dye I usually just rock the paler washed out shade until I redye. One tip I've learned from hair vids is to only use vol 10 to deposit the due on the lengths and use a 20 or 30 vol only on the regrowth. Really saves damage to the lengths.

I used the l’oréal high lift red in like 2013! It was the only way to convince my mom to let me dye my hair red because there was “no bleach” 😂

So i used the red/magenta three months ago and it was a little bright for me and faded a little to warm for me, so I added some of the true violet and it cut the warmth. Tho I don't have any problems with staining after the initial wash. I also stopped using semi permanent now that I'm using the hi color dye

If it were me tackling this, I feel like I would have used a color remover first, as I wouldn’t trust the high lift to bust through that color evenly lol. But the end result is cute!! ❤ I’m impressed

I made some mistakes at Sally Beauty this past weekend. But I think I’ve finally gotten my hair to white. 😮😂 Wasn’t trying to get there, but after I fucked up my hair it was either go lighter or darker to fix it, and I wasn’t going darker! Beautiful color you did here. Wish you could do my hair!

My natural hair as close to black as possible and I used to use Hi-Color because I have a fear of bleach. I loved it, it does get everywhere but the color is worth it. I washed my hair upside down in the kitchen sink so that I minimize the red splash

Would it work for dark brown hair? I have dyed my hair but on the tip my brothers ex wife put my hair in ponytail and bleached it and use Splat Midnight Ruby. love the color but uneven because it was in ponytail my mom was little upset but when it fade a little bit my mom fixed it it’s been 2 years I cut the bleached off and I’m gonna try to grow my hair and maybe dye it but I don’t know what to do

I lovvvve red , but Its been years since I had red hair , just because it satins sooo bad every shirt I wear if its still wet like I cant leave my hair to airdry , and every single time I wash it omg red everywhere 😐 im still thinking about doing red hair again but the fact it keeps bleeding makes me push it back in my head . but red is one of the most beautiful colours especially the bright shades

I’ve been thinking of using HiColor HiLights for years. I noticed recently the color selection had shrank and L’Oreal doesn’t have it on their website. I’m afraid if I uses this it’s going to be discontinued I won’t be able to keep up the color. I use a semi permanent red on my brown hair for a dark red. Maybe I’ll just stick with what I’m doing now.

I cant get ahold of hicolour from any reliable sources or amason sweden, is there any other highlift red color that u can recomend? I have virgin hair so i would have to use 20 or 10 vol right?

Have a look under L'Oréal Majicolour or Majicontrast. Seems to be sold under this name in UK not hi lift.
