I hate to tell you, but you are meant to overlap each edge by 50mm and tape the edge of the foil

I was thinking you’d attach this foil around the perimeter to make an air gap between steel door and insulation. But I need to research it more.

I use my garage as an art room and it’s really cold, have you got links for what you used to seal gaps at the top and bottom of your garage? also are you still able to open it after, to be honest doesn’t matter if mine is closed off as i do not open it that much, thanks

Also how did you seal the gaps at the top/ bottom / sides was it with that tape you mentioned? Ps great neat job- not so sure mine will look as well finished as I tend to rush these things! Very nice video, you have inspired me to take the leap with garage door insulation. I just had a cross-trainer installed in my garage attached to my house (but no connecting door). It seems that the temperature needs to be kept above 10 DegC to stop moisture condensing when its cold and ruining the machine internals over time. So I am going to insulate the garage & door to help keep the garage warm and also to keep it cooler in the summer, when the garage door is too hot to touch. I saw the attached video, which supplements your video, as it gives actual temperature difference results (only in summer, but the winter is just the reverse) "Which Garage Door Insulation Works Best?" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNZdqsmj1NLTXZ8.html. It includes a test of an equivalent to Superfoil insulation. At the moment, as I need to keep my garage warm (>10 DegC) in winter when I'm not using it, I am going to stick some beefier insulation to the garage door, similar to the types in the video, and I have picked "YBS SuperQuilt Lite Multi-Layer Foil Insulation 32mm thick" (which I will use on the rest of the garage as well). Also as my metal garage door gets above 60 Deg C in the summer I have also found some strong industrial high temperature foam double sided sticky tape, just in case the summer temperature affects the adhesion : "3M™ VHB™ High Temperature Tapes" (see www.vikingtapes.co.uk/collections/3m-vhb-high-temperature-tapes), particularly as the insulation isn't as light as the Superfoil insulation you used. I was initially going to try non specialist double sided tape, see comparisons of quite a few double sided tapes for stickiness strength in the attached video : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ma-Rps6gnpOlnYU.html (the best one looks to be available in the UK).
