Earlier in the tournament Shumilin had defeated him 6-1. So this victory was all the more dramatic.

It's too bad they were in 2 different sports ... but a match between Bruce Baumgartner and Alekandr Karelin would have been absolutely epic. They were contemporaries too.

Why not? The time ended at the score was tied, that was the rules back then.
