Thanks for including a few Alice Chalmers Tractors. That is what I had...well bought a basket of parts and put it back together. 1957 Alice Chalmers. I used it for brush hogging most of the time, but I had a box blade to smooth out our driveway a few times too. It said it was a D-12, but I couldn't find any other info on it, until we sold the land I used it on and and we took the tractor to an auction to sell. The guy who bought it was as Alice Chalmers collector and told me it was a really rare tractor...and let's say we made a lot more on the tractor than it was bought for 15 years earlier in baskets.

As a Farmall fanboy, I really wanted to walk those red rows T^T. But I love Deere, too, so it wasn't so bad. We have a couple of old Fords that gave given us a lot of trouble: an 8N and a 9N with a beefy front loader. Neither one runs well, if at all, and both of them need more attention than we can afford right now (both time and money). I would really love to restore the 8N, though, and drive it in our annual 4th of July parade.

The Lanz Tractors I have seen have been German. The Lanz Bulldog was a single cylinder. single the piston on the Lanz Bulldog was HUGE. Talk about popping when it ran.

The tractor pulls are my favorite! I could watch them all day! That steam shovel is real cool too! There's a gravel company near me that has one sitting outside the entrance to their yard. Every time I drive past It I cant help but wonder what it was like to run something like it.

The john deer trail buck is actually a bombardier. I have the same bike that I bought brand new in 2002. Mine is called a traxter. The developed the line and then started calling them john deer after a few years. Tough bikes. Mine is 14 years old now and still runs like new.

Thanks for doing these Bill. this is the third time I have watched it since you uploaded it. I have been pulling 36 years this year, with a 1948 John Deere model A 1950 Oliver Super 88 diesel row crop and a 1953 Massey Harris 44 D. The Massey Harris I have been pulling with since I was 16. I paid 75 dollars for it in 1976 when I was 12 years old with my Blueberry raking money. The Oliver Supper 88 I traded a spring heifer for in 1982. The John Deere A I paid 550 dollars for 8 years ago it was seized up from sitting in a barn for 37 years. Took the plugs out put some penetrating oil in the plug holes rocked her back and forth by the rear tire in 3rd gear and she broke free. Cleaned the points in the magneto a new carb kit and it fire up. Let it run awhile for the valves to fully reseat in, been using her ever since.

Nice vid Bill. Wow, a shame they allowed the farmall/ihc's to switch their T/A's. Every tractor pull I participated in, if you switched it, automatic disqualify. You started in 1 gear, you stayed there. The old JD 820's, 830's, G's R's and D's were the real power houses.

Which of those old Deere models were based on the famous Lanz Bulldog? The company that built (Lanz) them was bought by Deere in 1939 or so, but they built those awesome old single horizontally moving cylinder hot bulb oil engines that run so slow and sound so nice! It'd be so cool if Deere built a Bulldog based tractor themselves as well...
@Seegalgalguntijak10 жыл бұрын
Oh, I see, there was a Lanz tractor. Looks a bit different though than the Bulldog models I know about.
