A little about Shannon's cousins….
Dr. Andy Chan, is an accomplished urologist who is also a JKD practitioner under a student of Jerry Poteet’s. Andy lives in Long Island with his family. His three kids, Zachary, Tyler and Alexandra are all accomplished fencers thanks to dad’s deep interest in jkd - with Tyler competing on a national level at the junior Olympics and Summer Nationals.
Christie Chan practiced real estate law for 12 years in NYC before moving with her husband Tom and two kids, Lucy and Molly, to coastal CT, where they currently reside. She has worked as a grant writer and currently works counseling prospective law students and guiding them through the law school admissions process.
Juliana Wong (or Julie) is 25+ year veteran of the fashion industry. She has designed and consulted for various companies including Jones Apparel Group, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, and David’s Bridal. She has collaborated with celebrity designers Zac Posen and Randolph Duke on independent projects. Juliana currently lives in Northern NJ with her husband Jon, raising their two teenage kids, Jacqueline and James.
Christie, Julie, and Andy and I haven’t seen each other in person in many, many years but we hope to rectify that next year with a visit! Check out their bios for more detailed information about my awesome cousins and see lots of great photos in these show notes! Growing up I had the biggest crush on Shannon. These days that crush has grown into a deep respect for a woman who has inspired and influenced me to be more centered and balanced in my life. Her new book is amazing. The way Shannon has handled her father's legacy is inspiring. The world needs more people like Shannon Lee. ☮️☯️

Bruce lee made an impact on my family especially my brothers. They would get on top of the shed 2 meters high and get me to take photos of them jumping off the shed positioning their body like they’re kicking in the air just like Bruce Lee in the movies. Bruce Lee became the dominated topic of discussion in school or after school. My brothers would have their walls covered with huge Bruce Lee posters. Lovely memories

This touched my heart! I’m from a family that seems to enjoy conflict and mayhem. So I don’t have the option of communicating with them, since I’ve been cast aside, because I’d rather pursue peace! It's so good to be a part of the legend Bruce Lee podcast, listening to shannon Lee share her stories of her dad Bruce who still his a part of my life in more ways than one, my son Lee who I named after my hero Bruce, passed away tragically on October 2017 at the age of 35, and to be ab part of shannon and the Bruce Lee podcast is truly a honour, thankyou..✌👊🤛🤜☘

Shannon, Bruce Lee is was and always will be a legend. Watching some of his interviews I loved the way he spoke, such suave, such elegance, so philosophical...what amazing thought process. Such a gentleman and most of all the greatest martial artist of this lifetime. I loved loved loved Enter the dragon and after that i was 100 into martial art movies. Every movie i cud watch. Bruce Lee's charisma will never ever die...till posterity. God bless and love from India

Wow. How’s about that. I would have thought that this family would have been a lot closer over the years. Turns out they are just like so many other families. That really surprised me. I have my own thoughts about that but who am I to even guess at what they have been through. Thank you for recognizing that Bruce is absolutely adored by the Black community. He’s been my hero right up there with Muhammad Ali most of my life. Thanks to Shannon for asking some really philosophical questions. She is so much her fathers daughter. We could all use a good cry from the heart. It will release pain, ill feelings, unwantedness, etc. and a good cry opens the heart and the mind to inner healing. It starts from YOU. This is what the world needs in my opinion. What a great podcast.

Bruce Lee's Girl is very cheerful and fun. I imagine it must have been a very exciting and productive conversation circle, with hints of humor and that delicious nostalgia around Glorious father, uncle and grandmother Bruce Lee. Interesting, this link that the internet has to bring family members together even if in different spaces at long distance. Shannon's voice is very pleasant and striking. We definitely need an abundance of empathy, tolerance and educating ourselves regarding other cultures, religions, races, etc. in these times. Haha Hi Shannon , i'm Erick,23 years old and italian ,the story you told about Brendon, that of the dentist, is spectacular 😄 Well I'm totally on his side, he did the only right thing to do in that moment he defended his little sister I would have done the exact same thing if someone had slapped my sister You're great Brendon you know Shannon, I strongly believe that he was very human , just like Bruce Two very similar souls two legends that will live forever It’s wonderful the way you remember your father and your brother when you talk about them,I get really emotional and I think you are a very strong woman, an extraordinary woman thanks for everything you do Shannon Oh and ,can't wait to hear more stories about Brendon lol ☺️❤️

Shannon believe it or not this is my second podcast of yours I have watched the first one is when I actually bump my hand on the screen and then all of sudden you appeared and said hey’ that’s Shannon so I end up watching the whole show. I know you heard this plenty of times but, Lee Jun Fon is my idle I use him in a lot of my username and password’s I’m a black belt in the martial arts I love ❤️ the heck out him I watched my first film of him sneaking in the Drive in theater by crossing a creek and climbing over a fence and after that’ that was it I was hooked it was the the Chinese Connection here in Waco Texas and every since then he was my idle and defend his name on line when ever I read something negative about him. Also, passionate Bruce Lee fans-- probably the vast majority of them are not martial artists. I wasn't born when he died, but even today if I so much as mention his name to my 60 year old black mom, I have to be prepared for at least a 20-30 minute vibrant description of how she and her girlfriends lined up every weekend for Bruce's films in the 70s. She describes how everyone would always come out of the theatre sparring and kicking at each other in the lobby and on the sidewalks. And how badass his moves made her feel! But she absolutely hates martial arts films and always made me shut the TV off when I tried watching them at home as a child. Unless it was Bruce. LOL 😆 Go figure!
