It's funny, but fights between martial arts studios actually happened in this period. There was one 'dojo invasion' in San Francisco, I believe, where someone was stabbed to death, and a teacher was arrested for planning to dynamite a rival studio. The 60s and 70s were wild.

Oddly enough, the "american karate" guy is a northern English kung fu guy in real life, called Mark Strange. A student of Samuel Kwok who was trained by Ip Ching.

True. My Uncle Brendan Lai was friends with Lee and Ted Wong. They would have to slow the cameras down to see him move. Jeet Kun Do is part from KunTao and Silat mixed with Wing Chun Weapons Strategy. Bruce Learned Danzan Jujitsu and Judo from Wally Jay and student from Hawaii's Henry Seishiro Okazaki. Bruce Lee learned FAST Wally said he was already as good as he was after several years of training. Bless all the teachers who teach morality which is internal strength.

Pull this friend up and let us have a discussion of the Dates and the Party's that Wally and Bruce attended with Some of his clients included Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Stirling Silliphant, Sy Weintraub, Ted Ashley, Joe Hyams, James Garner, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and others. Wah-leong "Wally" Jay (June 15, 1917 - May 29, 2011), primarily studied and taught jujutsu and judo. He was the founder of the Gendai Budo martial art Small Circle JuJitsu. Jay was born in Hawaii of Chinese descent. At age 11, he began to study boxing under a community program. By the age of 18 he was studying jujitsu under Henry Okizaki and Paul Kaelemakule. In 1938, Wally enrolled at Oregon State College where he studied medicine and agriculture. In 1940, he studied Danzan Ryu jujutsu under Juan Gomez and learned judo under the former Hawaiian Champion, Ken Kawachi. Jay and his wife Bernice were awarded a Certificate of Mastery by Seishiro Okazaki, the founder of Danzan Ryu jujutsu, on February 22, 1948. Jay spent time with Bruce Lee and his associates in 1962 teaching them judo and jujutsu techniqueswhere Bruce attained a Yo Dan and Jay was the head instructor of Jay's Jujitsu Studio, which is also known as Island Judo/Jujitsu Club in Alameda, California. Even past the age of 90, he traveled worldwide teaching seminars on Small Circle Jujitsu. Jay published two books; Dynamic Ju Jitsu and Small Circle JuJitsu and numerous instructional videos. My suggestion is your friend is no friend of Leon or the Jay Family and is a racist liar. THESE are Documented facts. I know because I attened the Cahills Judo and Jujitsu Academy in San Bruno, Ca., and learned Danzan Ryu from Will Cahill Jr. and Joe DeBautista the Head Coach there now. Anyone wanting to verify this information can call and talk to the CaHill judo/Jujitsu Academy if they want. There are many BJJ liars out there and Bruce Lee is in fact registered through Wally Jay at The Kodokan Judo Institute (公益財団法人講道館), or Kōdōkan (講道館) in Nippon/Japan by Wally Jay.

that would not be the first rule i taught my students if i was a teacher in martial arts , the first rule i would give out would be , dont ever use this art if its not absolutely neccesary , by that means , use your own true common sence .

Yeah, you always gotta watch out for the American karate thugs in full gi. You never know where they're going to jump out and mug you with nunchaku. Their outfits allow them to perfectly blend into crowds and you'll never be able to pick them out of a police lineup.
