One significance of him playing this is that he did it in Sydney, home of INXS. Springsteen often opens with a song of special interest to where he is playing. He did this numerous times during the 2012-14 tour. On that tour the band played an astonishing 220+ different songs! For a guy with 50 years of making his own music, to learn a new song just for one concert , speaks to his work habits, and connection with his audience. I know I am biased, but I don't think anyone comes close in terms of "emptying the tank" every single night. When asked why he plays longer concerts than anyone else he said that he imagines there is a guy who has never seen him play, who has paid a lot of money for a ticket, who has waited a long time in line ..... that is the guy he is playing for.

I am a Bruce fan but he is far from my favorite. That being said I've never seen a live cover that he hasn't absolutely crushed and made it his own and super entertaining. I think he does the best covers of almost any other band because every cover he does sounds like it was always a Springsteen song. They definitely changed it as far as turning it from a soft rock song into a more uptempo rock song. However, they kept the main melody the same so had you heard the song that is the part you would instantly recognize like the crowd did. Loved this reaction and am really happy someone suggested it. Love seeing more live Springsteen on the channel! Stay awesome DH.

This song was a huge hit in Australia in 1983, INXS had a bunch of singles that became hits in just a few years at their beginnings. This was one of them. They then went on to do Kick Etc Original clip here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qbKdZq6Z2tnVj2w.html

weird how a band can cover a song and make it sound different yet the same. A good rock doc on Amazon prime worth checking out is Mystify about Michael Hutchence and INXS. I miss his sweet voice and songs. RIP 🤘

I haven't listened to Bruce in a while so I thought I'd check it out. I know I've heard this before, it was off of their third album "Shabooh Shoobah", that's when I started following them. If you have seen or heard the original, you should check that out.

I have a theory regarding the horns. If you're someone who LOVES horns, then you might lean to bands like Chicago, or Blood Sweat and Tears, who featured them more prominently. Here the added horns from recent tours are a little more complimentary. Great reaction sir! 💕
