Not much has changed with the incidence, prevention or treatment of Brucellosis in the last 50 years here in the US. I guess if we had a significant rise in its incidence in our elk, deer or in the dairy or beef industries, then things would have change. One of my professors in vet school 50 years ago was accidently exposed to the vaccine while vaccinating a cow (strain 19 vaccine) and he eventually developed permanent nerve damage. Back then we were told Brucellosis was endemic in our buffalo herds, which, I assume, is unchanged. I guess it's like prions (chronic wasting disease) in our deer and elk herds, not enough of a problem yet to spend the money and dramatically decrease the herd sizes. Important video, thanks for posting it. You did a good job.

Excellent video Had this 40 yrs ago, drinking raw milk for years straight from the churn ,didn't affect the wife though . Strange.

I though that chronic brucellosis was when the person was in a reccurent contact with the germ and the non treated or insuffisant treatement was the subacute form ? by the way great lecture thank you

Before I was born my father was a rancher in tanganyka/Tanzania and they were getting constant sporadic infection in the cattle herd of BRUCELLOSIS a disease which isn't always fatal but stops the sale of the milk. The cattle in those days... Early 1950s were mingling with the wild cape buffalo from where they were getting infected. So what my father did was get a swab and infect the entire herd with brucellosis and then they all got it and all recovered similtaneously. After that the virus receded completely My dad was way ahead of the times

@@peetsnort fake news. it's a bacteria not a virus, plus animals cannot be cured of brucellosis they can only be vaccinated against it.

@@lilitudeamnocte248 i am aware of the workings of brucellosis and I wasn't addressing the merits of vaccination. The incident happened in the 50s in tanganyka/Tanzania and they never had a vaccination. The point was that although the cattle didn't die so much it was the milk that was unsaleable..

Brucella cases on rampant increase due to failures by farmer's to put up quarantine units of diseased animals treat them before introducing to health stock. Use of one breeding bull in health and diseased animals .

Hi sis i m suffering from brucellosis.. I taken only 10 days medicine.. Now it came negative.. If it comes negative also we have to take complete course ?? But I'm still feeling fever a lot..
