The officials explanation to Monty was the cross check isn’t a penalty due to the contact coming from loheri. He left himself in a vulnerable position causing the play. That the Leaf player was trying to get his stick back to make a play. If anything the ref should have called holding the stick penalty before the cross check occurred.

Really..I went face first into the boards because I was too busy holding the other guys stick. That play doesn't happen if he's not holding it!

They were fortunate to have an easy schedule and good health the 1st 20 games to put them in a solid playoff position. The next 62 games as the schedule got tougher it became apparent that they have significant holes in their center core that limits them offensively. The frustrating part is Toronto with Nylander out, then Matthews out and Samsonov being yanked gave Boston a great chance to advance and they choose it away with horrible 1st periods in G5\6. Never going further than R2 with McAvoy as your #1 and Coyle\Zacha as top 6C.

Tough loss, but neither Boston or Toronto has what it will take to beat a few of the other teams. I'd really be surprised if the Rangers don't get into the finals.

We knew Nylander was hot and yet you say Beecher was defending well? Get Nylander off his game by checking him hard on the boards. Shadowing star players is not going to stop them. Andrew Ference of the 2011 cup champions would have destroyed Nylander. Where’s the Bruins grit and mettle gone?

Hard fought?...1 shot in the first half of the game is not hard fought.. Only someone who didn't watch the game could call that hard fought by the Bruins.

Guy gets cross checked in the back against the boards and no call. Should have been a bruins power play and that first goal never happens. Another game decided by the refs. But at the same time 25 minutes with 1 shot on goal. Can’t blame the refs when you don’t show up to play the game.

The right call would have been 2mins for holding on Boston, 2mins for cross checking on Toronto. I'm not sure why they think Boston should have got a power play out of it.
