I’m a new listener! I am guilty of sitting on the same side of the booth or table 100% of the time. In my defense restaurants are so loud and I am soft spoken that if we sit across I will give up on speaking because I am always having to repeat myself lol

100% right on the tipping and ill give you an example - I worked at the Cheesecake Factory in fucking Boise ID and the hourly pay for waiters was $3.75/hour...so we relied on tips which is nonsense in itself. When I started working there we had a gratuity of 20% tips for 6 tops and higher and after a couple years they even took that away so I swear to god there would be times we would get tables of 20 people and if they chose to tip $2, they would and could. They put all the responsibility of paying employees onto the customers and it's completely criminal.

I feel bad cuz my boyfriend and I will often sit in the same both, 😂 not for pda I hate that but mainly cuz we both like the same food so we usually both get something we share and don’t know why but i find it easier to share food when hes sitting next to me then in front. Weird I know. But yeah I want to try that other dish I almost got but didn’t 😅

I went on a date a couple of years with a guy, first date and this dude try to sit right next to me on the same side of the booth. I literally told him to move to the other side 😟 of course the date went downhill after because he was coming on too strong in the beginning and I told him I wasn’t interested in seeing him again and grabbed my coat and left. It was tooooo much.

Im 7months late on this bandwagon. Ive HAD IT with restaurants here in LA adding on a Medical Care charge of 20% onto the receipt, expecting US, THE CUSTOMER, to pay the medical expenses for his wait staff. I mean, if you're gonna do it, just hide it in the price of the food. So the spaghetti is no longer $15, its now $17 for medical insurance. Don't add 20% surcharges to my bill at the end! So over it!

Angie is so wise! The proliferation of this “tip” culture is the same as the “every child needs a gold star” mindset. Why are we responsible for subsidizing an employer’s crappy compensation? I don’t mind tipping when someone brings the food to you or performs a significant service, but to expect and PROMPT a tip on the tablet for grabbing a pastry out of a case seems insane! How is that any different than expecting a tip at the McDonald’s drive thru? Totally out of control!

It blows my mind that delivery drivers are apparently expecting tips now??? Like, that's your job. That's what you're paid to do. Tipping in general makes me see red, because it just means the business owner is taking way too much money from the workers. BUT I always tip servers at least 20%. Also, why are we tipping hair dressers? I understand if it's a corporate, super cheap hair place that isn't paying their workers fairly. But most of them are owned locally and only have one to five hair dressers in them. Just...price the services what you want??? I'm already paying $100+ dollars for the service I want, and it's only a couple of hours at most. I just do my own hair at this point.
