As an spanish person, I'm stunned that Bruno says "adiós" in a almost perfect spanish accent in the Canadian French, when in spanish he just says "bye" (we don't use it frecuently, but anybody can understand you if you say it). Although the fact that he says bye makes him more adorable.

«Chao» or «chau» would be the most Colombian way to do it. «Bye» wouldn't be uncommon though, particularly since late 20th century. If the story took place in the 1950s that would be weird. But there would be many other anachronisms then: color photos, telenovelas, jeopardy, Colombian uniform against Germany... the whole television theme about Bruno which might be explained as part of he living partly in the future...

In Japanese, he says じゃあ(Jyaa) which in this context means like "Well then" or "See ya". In Italian he says "Addio" which is a typical way of saying bye.
