Dawn Scopel I saw him in april at the 02 n I can most definitely agree with u this man has done show after shows fantastic shows I might add with 100 percent effort flawless vocals and energy promo after promo he's only human even when he has a gap in his tours he's doing what promoting himself by attending award shows like these all over the world u no the average everyday person complains over a few extra hours in the office yet here u have this true artist that performs consistently for months on end dealing with jet lag n all n people wana get at him for being tired get the fuck out of here he putting in that work let him be seriously

Oreo Gambino Bruno is also in his European tour right now , I still think he was tired, most artists when they are touring don't normally show up for The awards shows, but he did. and has done some appearances aside from that tour like the summertime ball just a week ago performing his hits. His never done anything shady to an artist in his career, so i don't think it was about that in my opinion.

Obviously everyone talking about him sleeping has never performed anywhere close to his level. You critics are tired after 4 minutes of dancing. This Cat is doing it all day everyday, plus rehearsing, plus traveling. At SOME point you'll get tired.

Hell yes he should have received it. I personally don't care that he is not black. He fits the genre and his music is 'BAD'! That brother can sing and he sings soul music. I hope he doesn't let what people say affect him because he is a tremendous performer. He is a true soul brother. Black people need to cut the racial stigma. I understand why folks are hating on Bruno but it's not his fault that he has the soul in him. I'm not fully in the music scene like I used to be when I was in middle and high school so idk who is killing the charts but it seems like only the mainstream artists are like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Drake, and Nicki Minaj are the only ones that come to my mind. Are there any other black artists who are topping the charts?

The man was TIRED....period. Also, Bruno comes from a musical family and was a member of his father's doo-wop band, he was immersed in the black music scene all his life, it's part of him. So Bruno singing RnB is very natural to him and I have no problem with him winning a much-deserved BET award. Bruno has always conveyed nothing but respect for those who paved the way for his music. People need to do their research before spouting off nonsense.

The only one making an issue about "appropriation" (which isn't the case here), is this program and the ONE writer who tried to get the community upset. One writer does NOT reflect the thoughts and attitudes of the entire community... CLEARLY. He won the award. I think that says much more than the "scandal" the woman in this video claims to have had occurred. So, to the reporter and her news director and writers: PLEASE stop making a deal out of nothing on behalf of a community to which you do not subscribe. We have enough social issues we're facing right now. No need to add more fuel to the flames, friends.

Yes, Bruno deserved it! He sings soul and R&B! He is part Black! Well, he at least gets a Black card! LOL!! He has always been appreciative of Black artists, and acknowledges his love of "Black" music and culture. Most people who use the term "cultural appropriation", don't really even know what it means.

Yes, I know his ethnicity. I was being funny. that's why I said he gets a "black card". If you want to go deeper - according to DNA experts, most Puerto Ricans carry 20% Sub-Saharan African DNA. Lots of PR's in my family who all look like they're Black American. But none of that really matters - Bruno is fabulous!

If you watch an interview of him talking about his music he says that he adores R&B, and that he doesn't have a style when making music, he just goes with the flow when making music. Just found this and had read about the sleep being taken after being flown in from tour to perform, just a wittle tired, who wouldn't be. My god he works hard. Loved all the messages shutting down C App stuff. We're all pink inside, and why did they want him to perform and or why was he nominated if he didn't deserve. Lovely to see all on the same page. Now we're just waiting for Silk Sonic to drop the next track...I'm in for the long haul with Bruno's career. He's something special.

Correction: It wasn't all of Twitter shouting cultural appropriation. It was one chick that released a barrage of tweets about it, and Black Twitter drug her for the remainder of the day. I don't believe that Bruno is guilty of cultural appropriation, and he deserved his award. As for him falling asleep, I believe he was just tired. It was funny to see him nodding off, but it can happen to anyone, especially given the fact that he had to go to soundcheck, rehearse, get ready for the show, put on that bomb a$$ show, then sit through the entire 3 + hr. awards ceremony.

It's not his fault he's making real R&B and Chris Brown is now doing whatever tf he's doing. I miss 90s groove type R&B REAL R&B, so he deserved that maybe if the black artist in the category had their shit together instead of trying to be rappers they'd have won.

Bruno Mars Definitely deserves a BET award as far as I am concerned his performance topped a Lot of our Black performances just don't think that Rappers running around on stage grabbing their genitalia and cussing are good performances lot of lip syncing going on and he opened up that show like no other! I think his music is universal plus he is an awesome performer
