I couldn't help but to find similitudes too, although they were aired at the same time so it is pure coincidence. And about the field scene with Bruno-Pol-Tania I think it was somehow necessary, because Pol and Tania are in love, but Pol and Bruno are in love too... so what tania does is what they explain with Sant Agustí "when you love someone , you can't ask that person to love you back, you can't ask for any condition. We even have to be willing to loosing that person". Pol needed Bruno, and she needed Pol, so she gave him what he needed without loosing him. At least that's how I saw it :p

myshkin I'm catalan and I can sure you that in catalan is way better. Also I met two of the actors (gerard and marc/Marco and Adrian) and they are so f*cking cute.

myshkin it made me so so so angry when Tania fell for Pol. The only thing I don't like in the show is that Pol recognized Tania as his first love even though I think it was obviously Bruno. He was just denying it to himself. I wish they'd showed how things with Tania ended and he finally recognized it was Bruno who he truly loved.

@@carlkirsch6949 At the end of the series they narrated where the characters ended up and Bruno and Pol's was that they got married (I forget exactly how it was worded). So we are given to believe that they did but we never got to see it

I like that ending, but it is an odd one, inconsistent with Pol's actions as a straight character and his insistence to Bruno that he liked girls and always will like girls. That’s why I want to see all the Seasons of Merli and all the Seasons of the spin-off, Merli: Sapere Aude, now playing on Catalonia’s TV3. Because Pol told Bruno that he does not know what love is because he has "never fallen in love with anyone, girl or guy", the viewer is left with the feeling that Pol will be one of those guys who marries a woman, but will not live happily ever after because deep down he does like men, at least Bruno, and will act out on this sexuality as time passes. (See the movie, "The Man in the Orange Shirt"). Anyway, thanks for your Reply. I am determined to watch all Seasons of Merli and Merli: Sapere Aude, because both are terrific stories of stories within stories that kept me coming back for more.

Don't expect much Brunol in the spin off. It's basically about Pol's years at the Uni and his str8 relationships with women with just occasional cameos of David/Bruno leading to the end we already know. :(

@@bcnmanhattan5022 Netflix has already made Seasons 2 and 3 of Merli available to foreign subscribers, but not to subscribers in the US. When you see clips of scenes that did not appear in Season 1 of Merli, that is because the scene was lifted from either Season 2 or 3 of Merli.

@Alexis Ayertey I watched season 1 on Netflix and then seasons 2 and 3 on Daily Motion but it was so long ago. There were subtitles but they were not official, so there were a couple strange wording choices. It's also not the best quality. I wish I could say I spoke Catalan or even Spanish could keep up but no.

Lozano planned the story for 3 seasons, but didn't plan for the possibility of cancellation. I don't like Axel, and hated the HIV storyline, but each serves a purpose in shaping Pol and forcing him to grow up. To me, one of the biggest waste of the second season is the amount of time spent on irrelevant characters. We didn't need to see episodes worth of screen time devoted to Vicky and her band of cougars, Bolano's kid, or Vicky and Alfonso. That was time that should be spent showing Bruno's growth, making Pol's friends more interesting, adding depth to the other story lines. Take the Axel/Pol storyline and replace Axel with Bruno. With minor tweaks to the script, it still works as the beginning of their courtship. Use the debate about love as a vehicle to force Pol to think and finally reach that moment of clarity about Bruno.

it's Kally's Totalmente de acuerdo, es guapísimo, en mi opinión el más lindo de la serie es Bruno, solo que gusta más Pol por la personalidad del -personaje- . Y en la vida real intuyo que el que se cree más guapo y sexy es Carlos, y quien no se la cree es David. #Intuición.

@@polonia48 Puede que estés en lo cierto en cuanto a David. Pero creo que ha madurado y ya se sentirá más cómodo en el personaje de Bruno (eso espero vaya). Ten en cuenta que Pol es el personaje preferido del guionista y en toda la serie, a pesar de que en realidad es un cabrón en sus relaciones, siempre lo mima y lo hace el objeto de deseo poniendo siempre a Bruno como el frustrado. Y francamente en cuanto a belleza a mi me parece que Bruno le da 3 vueltas y media. :)

Unfortunately, the writer took his personal issues with David out on the character and the story. He didn't have the stones to walk into a room to find a compromise that would allow the story to finish as intended. So instead, we get a half baked, half told story in a canceled television series. In the end though, they do find their way back to each other.
