I know it's Sheffield, but I've been impressed with Maguires resolve. He's been playing alot better, less pressure without the armband maybe, but he's chipped in with some goals and he's a monster aerially. He's just put his head down and played football and I'm happy for him.

@@gregday9093 we tried to sell him last summer. I bet we'll try again this summer. Rashford on the other hand got a new contract last summer. You do the math on who is staying.

Nothing has changed with Maguire. He was always a good "backs-to-the-wall" and a "get ya head on that son" defender. But he is still too slow and cumbersome to play in a team that wants to play a high defensive line and press opponents high. All that has happened is that because of our injury crisis, EtH has had to abandon the style of play that he wanted to play to accommodate Maguire's limitations. Also, please don't forget that we were Sheffield United who have a shocking offensive record this season.

Amad finally getting some minutes, and proving that in 35minutes, he had more ball control and directness than Antony has had ALL season. And has already made more defensive effort than Rashford has all season in his half hour run around.

Ste, bruv. I wish I could show you the beauty of this rebuild. Being a realist doesn’t mean staring at the wall in sadness about what is, it can mean recognizing the positive details to build on. We went through the early Erik days where we had a solid defense and won games 1-0. Now we’re in the middle Erik phase scoring 3 or 4 goals every single game but losing half of them. Next Erik phase WE FOOKING DOMINATE BRUV! We need your common sense in this bandwagon sacking cycle dan base. UTFR!

Fantastic comeback win 🙂 A lot of good ➕ & some of the same bad ➖ We started so promisingly Dominated in possession But couldn't get the goal we deserved That 1 mistake gifted them a goal I keep saying it but we're the masters of own doing, we have a distinctive pattern, we gift/give away/concede such silly avoidable goals which completely destroys/crushes the momentum we had prior to conceding, so we switch off & lose focus. Harry Maguire with the equaliser ⚽ Pen from Bruno cool as ever ⚽ Then he scored again This time a banger 💥 Love him ♥️ Captain's performance! Glad Rasmus scored too ⚽ Will do him good Can't go from playing poor to good In 1 game Performance far from perfect But better & improved Some beautiful football/passages of play Some of the passing was delightful However poor end product Defo an area for improvement GGMU 🔴

@@chrisclassical7 in those 50 years have you seen a season where our back 4 consists of 2 right backs, a midfielder and only 1 CB? What is anyone expecting a team to do with so many injuries, the loss of Martinez and a natural LB has genuinely dictated alot of the performances this season. There isnt a manager in the world that could do any better with the players out there. Just look at the bench tonight, how many genuine game changing players could have come on if we needed something else?

I have a long time ago stopped listen to comments from media like the sun Daily mail etc. I Think the big problem is that to many people doesnt want serious info. Ste, in our last 8 games (cherry picked, don't look into it), were 4-3-1. The draws hurt us but we *are* in form. Maybe the Case-Maguire defense can see us through to the end of the season. We play Burnley next, I think we're up for it.

The Rest is Football and The Overlap are great! Andy Mitten does great work! Alot of the journalists in the press conferences ask indirectly why Ten Hag won't cast his players under the bus or why he doesn't perform miracles and start players that are injured..

Of course we were going to concede a goal, can’t keep a clean sheet to save our lives with the makeshift back 4 we have and no defensive cover in midfield. But it was nice to see us actually control possession and pass it around. We can do it, and we’ve got some players who are actually good at it.

Talking of fanzines. I would always get a copy of Red Issue and United We Stand back in the early 90's. Once of them had, what was in my opinion, "the best football story ever told" which was the story of a lad who skipped work to go to Rotterdam. I will have to find it and type it out - I'll post it on a future YT video. Some of you might recall the story, bloody hilarious.

Now imagine how we played today but with 2 centerbacks who can play a high line and a leftback who is actually a leftback and can do anything functional going forward and make good passes when we want to play out the back. The cherry on top would be a number 6 who can tackle make passes and is press resistant. Since none of that can happen until the summer rashford not playing today was a good enough start to playing some decent looking football compared to what we normally get when he plays.

The good news .WE WON . We torpedoed the Scouse lot and the toffees put another torpedo into them , good news . Newcastle got spanked by Palace , good news. Rasmus Hojlund scored , good news . Didn't have to watch Rashford sulking , good news . Harry Maguire did well, good news . Bruno played with more freedom, good news. I'm happy . For us as we find ourselves, any win is a good win .

He's been playing forward all season. It's just that we actually retained possession well today (mostly because Sheffield utd sat back) which meant Bruno didn't spent 90% of the game running back and forth.

Ten Hag knows the way he wants to play, but, he just doesn't have the personnel to do it right now, so, he has two options, does he try his style when he knows it won't work or does he do what he's done this season, let individuals do their thing, expose our weaknesses to the new board with control over investment, yet still somehow, keep morale in the dressing room high enough to take us to a cup final? This season would have killed any manager, but, I think, win or lose in the cup final, Ten Hag hasn't done bad.

@@Fobber1980 couldn't disagree more. Stats... the highest win rate of any manager in our history, 3 cup finals, one trophy in two seasons. Maybe our style of play is deliberately unpredictable, it would be foolish to play the Pep, Arteta and Klopp way, Rangnick tried that, we just don't have the personel.

Positive would be that for once we had 26 shots and 13 shots on target and they only had total 10 shots in total. We should have scored more. Keeper had like 9 saves

Don't sack the manager if you see progression, if you see a plan that is developing. DO Sack the manager if you see literally no progress despite spending 500 million, no style of play after 2 years, being humiliated by teams a division lower, making baffling decisions, no substitution tactics, horrible signings. The cherry on top is treating club legends like dogshit.

We dominated the game. Garnacho could have had 2 or 3. We did to them what the likes of City normally do to us and they caught us out with a couple of sucker punches, one of which was completely our own fault. We scored 4, it could have been 7. Their goals aside, it was arguably our best performance of the season. Yes, it was against the bottom side and yes we conceded two sloppy goals, but given how shit we've been this season, I'll take it. Also, ten Hag has given yet another youngster a first team debut. How many is that this season? 4?

I can't imagine that if we'd had KDB in place of Bruno this year we'd be any higher up the table tbh. Practically speaking, in a big game, who's the one player that you feel your chances of winning would significantly drop if he's missing from the team sheet? If there's a list of players/people to get rid of at Utd, Bruno has to be last on it imo.

I feel the game would of looked totally different, if we put away the chances early on, their keeper played well to be fair. Was nice not conceding so many shots. Another cut back goal though 🤦🏻

I had football practice myself, so I only saw the second half. But when we went down 1-2 I was ready to give up on the game and save myself the disappointment. I'm glad the players weren't though.

How do we have sooooo many injuries? Surely Sir Jim and Team have to look at the coaches and medical staff and ask a huge question! Glad to see Rashford dropped (injured or not) and Antony taken off at halftime for being utter shite, think he’s done now surely. Pleased for Hojlund, pleased to see the number of academy players on the bench and getting opportunities. I think the game was good and showed that the players are giving it their best. People just need to remember that the front line has an average age of 21 when Antony starts instead of Rashford, 22 if Rashford starts. Dalot is the only defender who's had more than 2/3 of our minutes before the game against Sheffield. There's been alot of rotations in the middle too. What people are expecting and what's reality are two different things. The fans need to learn that the media just wants to get clicks and hype so the journalism is filled with agendas that hurts the club. That's just the way it is. Hopefully Ineos finds a way to relieve the pressure that the players and managers are under.
