A great result with so many good details. Absolute good work with the brush. Great weathering. You achieved a cool version of a Tiger I. Have a nice weekend. Greetings, Joachim

The model looks great and it has a nice filthy finish to it! Having struggled with vinyl tracks for years I can understand the difficulty in putting them on as well as trying to keep the paint from peeling off. Thanks for sharing this..

I hate this guy...........He just throws these things together then just lathers on the paint haphazardly and in the end it's a work of art

Hi, It looks great, maybe the dirtiness of the model is a bit exaggerated, but I still think it has done a great job with it.

Thank you. I actually couldn’t agree with you more, as I realized I had over done the weathering before it was to late.😅 It’s too easy for me to get carried away with the dirt and mud accumulation. :D

That's super cool, also my first model is a 1/72 tiger ealry type, also no one told me to thin the paint back then

Hey Modkits, recently I've been building a 1/72 scale Sherman, and I'm going to have to brush paint the tracks after attaching them to the tank, do you have any tips for that?
@Modkits131
@Modkits131 3 жыл бұрын
If the tracks are already black then you could just weather them without having to paint the entire track a dark grey color. Also it helps if you have a small angled brush to help reach into difficult areas. You may have seen me use it in the video. :)

A very beautiful tiger, I love the your techniques and brush painting, myself been brush painting for nearly 2 years and later changes to airbrush, I might try your approach and try some brush painting with your weathering techniques. What about you tho, do you plan to give airbrush a go? Great video!
@Modkits131

I definitely plan to get an airbrush in the future. It just all comes down to if I can afford a good one. I’d personally get a quality airbrush than a cheap airbrush. But for now I’m still enjoying brush painting my models. Also the occasional spray can. Thank you. :D

@@Modkits131 can I recommend one? I recently bought sparmax airbrush sp-020 with 2.0mm nozzle for 70 euros and it works WONDER. Great fine detail work and quick coverage, especially on 1/72 scale tanks and aircrafts. And funnily enough, I do NOT have a compressor! I use pressure sprayers, which surprisingly works well even for low pressures. Already done a 1 color paint scheme on an f/a-18 with post shading (the accuracy of the airbrush was excellent) and later done a fw190 mottle camo which the airbrush did just as well. This is my modeling experience on budget, using quality airbrush with great accuracy with only 70 euros! One only question, your acrylic wash that is thinned with soap and water, when it dries, with what do you wipe the excess away? Dry or water, maybe thinner? Thanks! Sorry for the long comment.
@Modkits131
@Modkits131 3 жыл бұрын
The acrylic wash has more soap than paint, with the soap not overpowering it though. Somehow after done drying, I’m able to remove it with just water. Thank you for the suggestion of your own airbrush I’ll keep it noted. :)

@@Modkits131 thanks, I'll surely use your acrylic wash, been having problems with enamel washes, after drying the enamel thinner which is supposed to wipe only the excess, sometimes in some small areas, it goes and wipes some of the original color which then I must repaint. Thanks, looking forward for more vids! Ps, any estimated, rough thinning ratio of the wash? Or do you always just go with the eye?
@Modkits131

A suggestion if you want to work with something other than my soap wash or enamels, (life color) has their liquid pigments wash set (various sets) with a liquid remover. I just have my own homemade/cheaper version basically. There are other companies that sell a similar product. A good thinning ratio you can follow (2 drops thinner to 7 drops paint) or if you don’t have dropper bottles then (2 parts thinner to 7 parts paint) I use parts because the paint ratio won’t always be same. :)

Nice work! Where you the one to build the tank?Also, when you were applying the beige over the camo, and you struggled to describe what you were doing, maybe call it fading the paint.
