You are the reason I began ordering my brushes from Rosemary & Co. They're everything you said & more. I was so glad to see your video in my recommended list today. It's been awhile but I truly enjoy watching your videos.

Only Richard would not only demonstrate his Rosemary & Co brushes, he generously offers us a valuable demo with a lovely still life set up to learn from. Thank You, Richard! (I have a couple from rosemary & co too -- LOVE THEM! When I have some money saved up, I've bookmarked your set to buy, because it's true -- painting with GOOD brushes makes a BIG difference.)

I love these brushes. I live in Michigan and it only took two weeks for delivery. They are worth the investment. I think the best thing about them is how well they hold their shape. They are amazing. Oh, and just holding them in your hand feels great too. The handles are very well balanced and very smooth. They feel great!

Recently ordered a wide range of shapes, filbert, flat, brights etc. in various hairs & all I can say is they are all "Fantastic" to work with! Rosemary Co will send a catalogue to choose from. whoever you are & whatever you paint, you won't be disappointed. Thank you for your videos, you're a wonderful artist. I'd like to know if these brushes would be best for abstract and expressionist painting as well as your painterly style. 😊
@RichardRobinsonStudio8 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Could be good. Depends on your particular style, or the style you're aiming for. I would expect you'd want some big house painting brushes too.
@branzal8 жыл бұрын
They might have sent them to New Zealand in a week, but how much did it cost. Rosemary and Co wanted £32 to deliver 2 sets by courier to Spain because DHL said it wasn't their normal delivery area. We live in a village 13kms from Gandia, and regularly receive courier deliveries from other companies.

at 4:37 I dont understand at all how oil colors are layered like that with much noticeable mixing of the colors. I dont know what I am doing wrong but my colors tend to mix on the canvas almost immediately and turns to mud. I also can't find my resources that talk about this. Does anyone else have this problem or can you offer suggestions on how to avoid it? I am using student oils if that makes a difference.

Interesting demo and I like the brush set. Is the set available in the U.S. and if yes at what art outlet sells them. I'm in Farmington, Michigan and I'm close to a Blicks art store. Would appreciate a response, thanks - Dean L. Racke.
@RichardRobinsonStudio8 жыл бұрын
+Dean Racke They're only available from the UK as far as I know, though it only took a week to get to me in NZ - half way round the planet.

I just tried using the natural bristle brushes and not impressed, the synthetic have a bounce and feel nice, the natural do not and it doesn't make a clean Mark bristles are all over the place.

I like the way you started, final.painting is really good as well but it's not the best u can give, I mean u covered that expression under opaque oils, also one thing the thought is not always truth, there are many artists out there who really do extraordinary work with cheaper materials

I use and have bought brushes from Rosemary & Co and they are good and worth the price and you young man (speaking as an ex Senior Teacher and On-Line Trainer) can certainly, paint and 'teach' well plus unlike so many still life tutorials your productio, lighting and close ups are excellent BUT what a shame you are abusing KZfaq to turn your tutorial into a blatant advert for Rosemary & Co that leads me with zero trust and any integrity in you as an artist, were you even doing the painting as we never saw you actually doing so (ie just a pretty face). Much of your delivery felt scripted and not natural due to the need to get as many references to them as possible. I always fast forward adverts on TV and to find more and more of them on here (ie actual videos) is very annoying. If you want to see how it should be done as oppose just wanting to make money watch Steve Mitchell - The Mind of Watercolour, I sure he gets some sponsoring which I don't mind but we watch him as he has 'integrity' and even though you have the skills I don't see that in you.,

Dave thanks for the tickle but I don’t appreciate the slap. I love these brushes and continue to use them. They’re a great family based company with good people and deserve all the success they can get. I sure don’t mind promoting their beautiful brushes and they are also kind enough to reward artists like myself for letting other painters know about their brushes. Thats smart business and it’s a win for everyone. In this video you’re seeing my honest enthusiasm for these brushes and my description of how I use them and why I like them. That’s what the video is about and why I called it “Brushes for Oil Painting and Acrylic Painting”. That’s why I keep mentioning the brushes. I get so many artists wanting to know specifically which materials I use. This is a great way to let them know. Now stop insulting people you don’t know and go do a painting.
