Check out the other video on replacing the shaft too. They have a shoulder on them and have to be removed from the bottom to the top so the rotor won’t get damaged.😊

Nice clear information. Just found your channel and I am very interested. Looks like I am late to the party here but will enjoy everything you have posted. So many questions but I'll try and control myself from asking too much. Do you have a video that shows how you connected the motor to your wing chassis? It looks from a brief look that you have created a custom setup that I would like to see a bit more clearly. Thank you for sharing and I hope the guys at our track will get hooked after I get mine running.

I followed your instructions with my first brushless motor. Put a bearing inside and tapped the shaft as you said, but it didn't move. I managed to get it out using a vice but the shaft on my motor has a raised lip at the end so the hole is now slightly bigger than 2mm meaning it's no use any more. The shaft needed to be pushed out the other way so maybe you should put a warning in the video that some motors are different.

That is the way Richard Mack changes the shafts out. I made the video that suggested using a vise or press therefore not to damage the stator bearings by bashing them with a hammer! Use the press out method in the other video

@@brushlessslotcarracing I used a vice but the shaft is slightly bigger driving it out the way Richard did and needed to go out by pushing the other way

@@davecoward8891 take note of the shaft size on top of the rotor. There is a shoulder on the shaft to stop it in the hub in the rotor. The shafts are pressed in from the factory from the top until the shoulder hits the hub. They must be removed in reverse of the procedure, pressed from the bottom out the top of the rotor or the shoulder on the shaft will damage the rotor and it probably won’t be salvaged.

@@brushlessslotcarracing Yes I know that now, but that isn't what Richard does in this video. You can se that he puts the brass tube with the bearing inside the motor case and taps the shaft down. I assume some motors must go the other way which is why I suggested that it should be pointed out. Either that or everyone is going to ruin a motor first time they do it.

What are the motors you are using?

They are drone motors. in this video its an 1106 4500 Kv EMAX. We have used motors from 1106 to 1408 in diameter in slot road course cars and drag cars.
