Brutal Death of Christian Wirth - Extremely Sadistic Nazi Commandant of Belzec Killed by His Own Men. Christian Wirth was born on 24 November 1885 in Oberbalzheim, then part of the German Empire. After completing his education, Wirth was employed as an apprentice carpenter at a timber company in Oberbalzheim and from 1905-1910 he served his military duty with Grenadier Regiment 123 in Ulm. In 1910 he married Maria Bantel, with whom he had two sons and then moved to Stuttgart, where he worked as a police detective.
The First World War began on the 28th of July 1914. In October of the same year, Wirth volunteered to serve in the army of Kaiser Wilhelm II and saw action on the Western Front in Flanders and northern France. Christian Wirth distinguished himself in battle, was wounded, and highly decorated for bravery. The First World War ended on the 11th of November 1918 when the German leaders signed the armistice in the Compiègne Forest in France. In June of the following year, Wirth returned to Stuttgart and a short time later was promoted back to police detective sergeant.
He earned a reputation for solving difficult tasks often by using brutal methods of interrogation.
After World War I ended, Germany experienced great political turmoil. The 1919 Treaty of Versailles imposed harsh terms on Germany, which had lost the war. In addition, the country saw the overthrow of its monarchy. In its place was the new Weimar Republic, a democratic government. Racist and antisemitic groups sprang up on the radical right and they falsely claimed that Jews and Communists were to blame for Germany’s problems. One such group was the Nazi Party which Wirth joined in 1923, becoming one of its original members.
When Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party rose to power in January 1933, they made the stab-in-the-back myth - an antisemitic conspiracy theory, which maintained that the Imperial German Army did not lose World War I on the battlefield, but was instead betrayed by certain citizens on the home front-especially Jews and revolutionary socialists - an integral part of their official history of the 1920s. The Nazis denounced the German government leaders who had signed the Armistice of 11 November 1918 as the "November criminals" who had "stabbed the nation in the back" in order to seize power. Historians inside and outside of Germany unanimously reject the myth, pointing out that the Imperial German Army was out of reserves, was being overwhelmed by the entrance of the United States into the war, and had already lost the war militarily by late 1918.
In 1933 Wirth joined the SA and in 1937 was recruited by the SD, Reinhard Heydrich’s Security Service, as an agent, spying and informing on his Party and police comrades. On 10 August 1939, Wirth transferred from the SA to the SS, attaining the rank of Obersturmführer which was equivalent to First Lieutenant.
The Second World War began on the 1st of September 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. The last operational Polish unit surrendered on the 6th of October.
The German occupation of Poland was exceptionally brutal. The Nazis considered Poles to be racially inferior and they launched a campaign of terror intended to destroy the Polish nation and culture and to reduce the Poles to a leaderless population of peasants and workers laboring for German masters...

Perhaps the most notorious of all the Holocaust perpetrators. A true monster. Apparently a book that interviewed Wirth's children has been written, but the author decided not to publish it. Alan Heath has tried to get in contact with him. A lot more needs to be known about Wirth and Belzec, where some 400 000 people were murdered (over twice that of Sobibor). It was the most efficient of the death camps, as you point out, only 6 survivors. One survivor apparently was s amsll girl that was taken from the train at the camp and somehow got to a local woman who hid her in her barn and never let out for over a year at great risk to herself. Incredible story. Thank you for your excellent video. We must never forget.

Here are the names of some of the survivors of Belzec and what happened to them. Rudolph Rader. He lived in Lvov and was one of the thousands of people from Lvov who were sent to Belzec but unlike almost all of them he survived. He was sent to Belzec in August 1942 and was there for three months until he escaped in November 1942. He then returned to Lvov and was then hidden by a landlady of his until Lvov was liberated. He later testified about his experience in Belzec being the only survivor who wrote about his experiences. He later died between 1968 and the late 1970s. Chaim Hirzmann. Born in 1912 he was sent to Belzec along with his wife and 6 month old child in September 1942. Sadly his wife and child were sent to the gas chambers where they were killed. Chaim stayed at Belzec until it’s liquidation where he along with the few surviving Jewish people in Belzec were sent to the Sobibor extermination camp. Chaim was able to escape from the train car unlike almost all of the rest of those sent to Sobibor who were killed on arrival. Chaim then joined the partisans and defeated 29 Germans. Sadly after giving evidence to the Jewish historical commission in Lublin he was killed in 1946 by anti semtic locals. Szaprizo Izrael. He was a rabbi who was sent to Belzec from the Lvov Ghetto. After spending several days in Belzec he was able to escape and survived the war. After ww2 ended he immigrated to the United States though I don’t know what happened to him after that. Herc Slyko. He and his father were sent to Belzec from Krawkow. Like Chaim Hirzmann he stayed at Belzec until it’s liquidation in which he was sent to Sobibor. He along with Chaim were able to escape from the train car. He then returned to Krawkow but his fate is unknown meaning that he could have survived the war. Bachner. He was a dentist from Krawkow who was sent to Belzec in October 1942. He then entered a latrine and hid there for a few days until he left the pit and escaped from Belzec. He then returned to Krawkow but his fate is unknown meaning that he could have survived the war. Jozef Sand. He was from Lvov and was sent to Belzec at some point before he eventually escaped at some point but he wasn’t seen again so he could have survived the war. Ruthie. She was a child who was able to escape from Belzec and survived the war. She later had a child of her own who later wrote a book about her mothers experience at Belzec though it is unknown if she is still alive or not.

I have found out about another survivor of the Belzec extermination camp. His name was Yisarel Spira and he was born in Galicia in 1889. He was sent to Belzec in October 1942 but like Rudolph Rader he was able to escape from there and also survived the Holocaust. After the end of ww2 and the Holocaust Spira immigrated to the United States. Spira thankfully lived a long life living to the ripe old age of 99 years old before he died in October 1989. This means that 5 of the survivors of Belzec have been confirmed to have survived the Holocaust.

That may be true but I personally do not judge people because I myself am not perfect. Obviously I wouldn't do bad things on the same level as the Holocaust but all this is subjective and who decides the gravity of "badness"? At the end of the day we should take a balanced view because people can pick out the bad things we do too.

I have never heard of this guy. I spent a year in Israel in ‘88-‘89 and went to the Holocaust Museum in Tel Aviv and Yad Vesham in Jerusalem. There was so much history it was overwhelming. I had a fascination with both World Wars as a kid and my comics told brave stories of British and American soldiers fighting the Germans and the Japanese. However there were no stories of the Ghettoes or the POW camps. War was glorified as a gentlemanly game of good against evil. My role models were sanitised and held in a bubble of hero worship and fiction. The true story is far too traumatizing. The filth of these perpetrators has ironically cleansed Europe and we now judge other countries with laws about inhumanity. Even this channel has to censor some of the worser aspects of the depraved guards and their actions against defenceless men, women and children. Genocide is still within living memory and we need these stories to remind ourselves political extremism is a result of economic hardship. Hurt people hurt people and monsters like this depend on autocratic power justifying the unjustifiable.

Several of his SS-men were severely beaten by Wirth who often used his whip to lash subordinates who disobeyed, in the face. He even pulled his gun in the face of members of his staff. He ordered two men to shot the SS-civilian employee Unverhau who had disobeyed an order to install the fake water pipes in one of the gas chambers at Sobibor. The SS men told Wirth that Unverhau was needed in the camp since he was a good mechanic. Wirth then withdrew the death sentence. He also threatened to shoot his drivers (Dubois, Oberhauser) when his car broke down on a few occasions. Trawnikis of whom he suspected of having failed in their job in one way or another, were either beaten immediately shot or kicked into the gas chambers along with the jewish victims. Wirth was feared by everyone.

Could someone please explain to me what makes the holocaust so singularly unique. Was there not a million massacres and genocides before the holocaust, and wasn’t there the Rwandan genocide after the holocaust? Wasn’t there the Asian holocaust caused by Japan in the 1930s that killed god knows how many millions of Chinese by bayonet, bullet and gang rape? What makes the holocaust so special? Is it simply the technology (zyklon B) and efficiency?

T.H.E.Y. K.I.L.L.E.D. J.E.W.S.!!! The others didn't. But I think you know that. They are the ULTIMATE VICTIMS 4EVER!!!!! Don't be afraid to say, just be mindful of HOW you say it.

I have to disagree on one point ...evil was rampid. Some other POS would have stepped in. Operation would not have collapsed. Good thought but no.

"Never faced justice"? The man was stone dead a year before war's end! What more do you want? One could say he had a "zero tolerance policy" on opposition, even from his own men. Based oder nicht! Methinks even his own wife would have been glad to see the back of him!
