My buddy Eric has a mk2 making 700awhp, he spent 2 months working on this thing everyday. He was on the highway doing one of his first pulls after the final tune. I was behind following him, he took off and the car seemed to be running amazingly. The one thing he skimped out on was the brakes, he was using standard rotors with ceramic brakes. He had to brake quickly at the end of his pull and when he got down to about 50mph, his front brakes exploded. Luckily him and his car came out okay, he switch to vdb all around. Moral of the story, don't skimp on brakes.

@@safersisic9562 this exactly how you measure 100-200. You don't want to measure the throttle delay, turbo spool time or gas latency... You Want to measure as consistent and comparable to other vehicles as possible. What you mean is elasticity, this isn't measured here though.

I had a 9-10 sec gtr godzilla and i cant believe how fast this is, small light ---wow---.I really appreciate the engineering that goes into making that 4cl do so much AND HOLD TOGETHER. Seriously I am assuming ur not rebuilding the engine every race meet, and the fact u get so much torque and hp from a 2LT wow you must be seriously great engineer, a mechanic couldn't do this but a great engineer can

+w202e39s204 man sieht ja viele "Gölfe" mit Dampf ... aber man sieht es ihnen auch meist an ... Vollschalen, Lenkrad usw ... da muss ich sagen ist dieser Golf wirklich sehr "zivil" geblieben.

+w202e39s204 Naja, das wär bestimmt lustig, aber eigentlich auch wieder nicht, weil viele Gegner bleiben da nicht, wenn überhaupt ein einziges Auto auf der deutschen Welt (mit Straßenzulassung in Deutschland wohlgemerkt)

thats not really that special, the way it gets to 100 and what happends after is though. decent fast cars all get 80/90 in first gear with 1000 hp less.

really impressive! here in germany we have a car event called German Racewars that happens twice a year and its mainly 1/4 mile racing. among the many participants there were also several golfs that set best times every year. don't let me lie but i seem to remember last time when 2 golfs drove a 7.2 and 7.4 sec. both had similar build and were between 1.000 and 1.200 hp.

no Golf on the world have 7.2s. the quickest is 7.6 with 2x VR6 Turbo and over 1600hp on a professionell glued track. German Racewars is a air field with no traction. Maybe high 8s numbers
