Overused quote that means nothing considering it was most definitely holy - it was christian, and it was blessed by the Pope. It was Roman - the Pope crowned the HR Emperor as Emperor of the Romans. It was an empire - empires do not need to be centralised to be an empire.

Pixelated Apollo, keep in mind the words "tactics" and "strategy" are used to denote two opposite poles in decision-making. A lot of times you say "if you enjoy tactics; if you enjoy strategy," implying they are synonymous

Historically free companies were mercenaries acting independently of the government hence the "free". Interesting to note is that the British placed their own Nobles to command them, usually a Count, sometimes a vicount. The French never did this, and it lead to a few issues.

Some of us like to see how the tactical situation of the battle is progressing more than shiny armors and the cinematics. So maybe you would consider keeping the camera above the soldiers as much as possible so that we don't miss important events in the battle.

Greater Poland and Lesser Poland are simply parts of Poland. Nowadays they are 2 out of 16 voivodeoship. (Voivodeoship is the biggest adminstration district in Poland-something simillar a little to states of the USA but not that much as states are much bigger and have different feel of integrity and independence). Greater and Lesser Poland are also cultural and historical parts of Poland, somethibg like Normandy being one of cultural and historical reions for France and England. In the Greater Poland was the begining of Polish integrity and country of Poland. There lies first polish capital-Gniezno. Lesser Poland is where lies the second capital of Poland Kraków (it was capital during later and ending times of Medieval period and later. I am not certain, but i think that Poland may be divided into different armies because it takes place as title says in 1212 and at that time Poland was divided beacuse in 1138 beacuse of death of Bolesław Krzywousty (Boleslaw Wrymouth), duke of Poland (not every ruler of Poland in those times had title of king) country was divided beetwen his sons. It was his idea to avoid fight between them. Poland was divided and for long time and didnt have one ruler, until at the begining of fourteen century polish prince Władysław Łokietek reunited the country and took the crown.

Ok here we go again, you either attack in waves or clump up your units in a city. There is no middle ground. And those clumped up units aren't engaging they are getting tired for no reason. So I'd rather attack in waves, with fresh units coming in when the front line thins, especially when there is cav around as then you need a rearguard
