My first run that got to Osman, All I had left was Nowak, and Hans. Concentration got Nowak killed turn two, but I still managed to squeeze out a win, by being patient with my slaps. Sure, I was down most of my health, but I did it...Then Phase 2 started. It's moments like this that make gaming

"Mortal horizon - instantly separates fiction from reality." What a whimsical name for such a intimidating attack. Osman sinnoks sounds like he would enjoy watching melodramas.
@NeostormXLMAX
@NeostormXLMAX Жыл бұрын
I thought this implied that this whole "brutal orchestra" thing was just in his imagination, osman sinnoks is just the protagonists idealized self, or what he couldn't become that got him to commit suicide, but facing him instead of heaven just shows that this whole purgatory thing isn't real, its all in his fleeting mind before he completely dies from his head wound, its just a hallucination. and osman is reality itself calling out to Nowak
@pootytang69
@pootytang69 Жыл бұрын
@@NeostormXLMAX yeah I totally agree with this, I saw another comment on the first part of the song suggesting that Nowak had killed himself due to feeling like a failure trapped in a life that made him unhappy, and that Osman Sinnoks is the manifestation of his self doubt and certainty of his lack of happy future that summoned the willpower to attempt to kill himself - thus Osman seperating reality from fiction is wake up call to nowak and bosch to remind them of the painful reality that they're actually the pitiful corpse dying in a cave somewhere after a miserable and unfulfilled life, having failed to properly kill themselves (painful irony). I think Bosch is very much aware to an extent of this reality, and thus that's why he wants to keep Nowak in the dark, why he holds resentment towards him, and why he's so afraid of Osman - Bosch is like a self defence mechanism, the denial of reality.

Shout-out to my boy Clive, who by slapping the air again and again managed to get lucky pigment every fifth turns, evading both Osman and Sinnoks at the same time, alone, and having to get hit again and again (And heal again and again) to only do 10 damage every 12 turns. Longest battle I have ever fought, my first true victory. I love this game.

I noticed your still reading comments on these so I just wanted to say how much I loved this game on every front - incredibly good turn based fighter with unique mechanics that resolve a lot of what makes turn based rpgs kinda boring and easy on a combat front - a super unique and interesting sound track that fits the visual style and sense of humour of the game perfectly and elevates it - simple but bold visual style where everything is often gross or adorable or both, and every character and enemy is designed lovingly with consideration to who they are (I loved reading your trivia bits on the wiki) - An absolute top tier roguelike in terms of understanding how to keep a game engaging even without 'meta progression', and hits that sweet spot of punishing difficulty with a smattering of rng, yet almost never presenting an impossible situation that tactics can't find a way out of, death is often just an accumulation of bad moves or lack of flexibility in approach. (Imo a perfectly balanced game with a high difficulty is essentially just a puzzle game, assuming there's no reflexes required in playing, where victory can generally always be ensured by simpling taking time to think - Brutal Orchestra nailed that.) The story, the characterisation of Nowak and Bosch, and the humour throughout all the dialogue between them and everyone else is the chefs kiss on top - I'll remember my experience with the game for a long time because of the story and characters, and I'll be damned if I ever forget Horny Jesus.

Got for the first time to Osman... When i decided to kick out my entire party to unlock Gospel. So i went there with some bandaids for Nowak and 3 gospels (Because of wicker child) and NO way to deal with pigment overflow other than burning the wrong pigment on purpose with the statues. They held up well enough but they can't move so eventually i was all alone with a half of osman and me trying to pass the turns with enough luck to get some hp so i could burn some pigment and keep fighting. The fight took too long and mindlessly skipped a single turn ending with me getting mortal horizon'd. My first fight was memorable for sure.

After just getting into the game myself, I'd also like to toss in that Dimitri can also kick his ass as well, with the ability that strikes multiple spots. Feels like any character that doesn't have such an attack is screwed if alone, cause they have to move in front of him in order to attack (and that's no good cause you take a hit, if not multiple). Granted, multihits especially shred heaven, but it just feels necessary for osman in order to avoid taking any damage at all

@Poondaedalin
@Poondaedalin 2 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is a character who can remove Curse, like Clive or Cranes (though remember that Cranes can't remove his own Curse). Here's a rough chart of who to bring (and who not to bring) in my opinion: Novak: ★★★★☆ There's basically no reason not to bring him unless you're gunning for the Plot Armor achievement. He has very good damage and the ability to consume purple pigment (and trust me, you're gonna be getting a lot of purple pigment in this fight). That being said, the attack that shifts enemies should probably be avoided, since the direction it pushes the enemy is random, so at best, you have a 50% chance for it to go the direction you need it to go. Boyle: ★★★★☆ An excellent choice, mainly because he can attack adjacent lanes, but the Shield ability can also be very handy if you have to take damage. Hans: ★★★☆☆ Hans brings very reliable healing, but he's also comically frail, so be ready to adapt when he gets two-shot by one of them. Anton: ★★★★☆ Rupture is a great ability to have in some situations, but the bosses attack so much that it isn't worth much here. Shuffling pigments is also decent, but again, it's not super helpful here. The big-ticket item is Cheap Blow, and when combined with Spotlight and/or Frail, you have the capability to one shot Osman or Sinooks. Granted, it's luck-based, but if he's max level, he's still doing 20 damage at MINIMUM against a Frail opponent, which is still nuts. Splig: ★★★★★ Splig is my personal favorite healer. Sure, his attack can be detrimental more often than not, but his healing abilities are incredible, both can heal him, and he also doesn't have Delicate like some other healers do, so he's more self-sustaining than you'd expect. Pearl: ★★★★☆ Pearl's strategy revolves around raw damage at a high cost, and her max level attacks are so comically strong that the cost is definitely worth it (23 DAMAGE for the single-target attack). Plus, she can attack adjacent lanes like Boyle can. Now that I think about it, she's basically better Boyle with a higher price tag, since she can also drop big Shields if needed. Depending on your strategy, either one would probably work, but both are amazing in their own way. Thype: ★★★☆☆ Thype has an unmatched amount of healing, but it comes with some limitations. Not only are they frail, just like Hans, but Stitches only works if Thype is undamaged. Most of the time, if they are, they're the lowest-health party member, and the ability is basically useless. Not only that, but be wary of Withering, since it can and will end your run if Thype is the only one left. Griffin: ★★★★☆ Spotlight is the ultimate risk-reward strategy, and against these bosses, it really shines (lol). The combination of attacks that hit adjacent lanes and this magical status effect means that you can swiftly take out either of the bosses. Be careful, though, since if Osman gains Spotlight from killing Griffin, things could get ugly. Arnold: ★★★☆☆ Arnold is an extremely high maintenance character, but seeing as the result is constant full-heals or two-shotting either of the bosses, the payoff might just be worth it. Be sure to bring some form of overflow mitigation like Smoke Stacks if you plan on using him. Dimitri: ★☆☆☆☆ Dimitri is alright on paper, but the combination of constant movement and constant attacks makes Fire kind of a weak effect in practice. Not only that, but the fire left on the ground is a massive problem in a fight where every spot counts, and losing health to your own party member could be the difference between winning and losing. Longliver: ☆☆☆☆☆ As much as I love this little guy, he's undoubtedly one of the worst party members, and this battle is a good example of why. Constricted is an absolutely TERRIBLE effect to have, and the fact that his abilities center around Rupture, which requires movement, doesn't exactly help matters. The worst aspect of Longliver, though, is the fact that Osman attacks first, then moves. He doesn't lead his attacks in a direction like Roids or Charcarrion, so chaining the bosses in place is a terrible idea if the Constricting spot is always directly in front of one of your teammates. Just bring Anton instead, and leave the adorable little boy at home. Clive: ★★★★★ I'm tempted to give Clive six stars, since he might be the best party member in the game. He effortlessly deals with two of the biggest problems in late-game fights: status effects and overflow, while also dishing out great damage and healing himself. Kleiver: ★★★★☆ Rupture is great to have, and sacrificing Health for extra attacks could win you the fight on the spot. He's certainly on-par with Boyle, but he lacks any defensive abilities, unlike Boyle and Pearl. Cranes: ★★★★★ Cranes is also invaluable, since he packs both healing and Curse removal, and unlike Clive, he can actually remove Curse from other party members, which can be incredible. However, probably avoid using the self-heal, since unless you have Lump of Lamb, you can't remove Curses on Cranes himself. Agon: ★★★★☆ Agon is a very unique party member, and the ability to bring back dead party members can be very helpful if you manage to bring back a high-priority party member like Clive or Griffin. Plus, getting Cursed means nothing since Agon is already Dying. However, bear in mind that the resurrected party member spawns to the left at 1 Health, so they could get instakilled if you don't plan for the bosses' attacks. Rags: ★☆☆☆☆ Rags is actually not completely useless here, since if Linked is applied to both bosses, you could rack up a ton of damage between the two of them alongside Boyle or Pearl. However, what he has in team support, he lacks in personal attack power. He has zero attacks that deal damage (besides the lowly Slap), and his "healing" ability is basically useless unless you have something like Lucky Helmet or Pep Powder. Smoke Stacks: ★★★☆☆ Smoke Stacks offers a very unique utility, and provided that you plan in accordance with this character's abilities, you can completely ignore overflow and deal decent and consistent damage to both bosses while being out of harm's way. Leviat: ★★★★☆ Leviat is like Hans, but bigger, beefier, and trading off healing for trade-offs, exchanging 2 Health for either a high-powered attack or a high amount of healing. Bimini: ★★★★☆ To be honest, I haven't actually unlocked this character or Gospel, but she seems very strong in conjunction with good healing and/or overflow mitigation. She's probably best paired with Smoke Stacks or Clive as a result of that, and she does REALLY good damage if you can deal with her odd Health situation. Gospel: ★★★★☆ Again, I haven't actually unlocked this character, but it seems very strange, and I'm not certain if it would be good in this fight. However, having the ability to refresh your abilities and 100 HEALTH seems quite good if you can manage to keep it alive until the fight.
