The amount of bravery this took was INSANE. These people all had their lives in danger, but still decided to go through with the recovery for the sake of busting bad scammers. True respect *Strong widget!* If the FBI was half as dedicated and ingenious (and honest) as you guys are, the USA would be a much safer country. Amazing work!

I was in absolute tears hearing that man leave the message for that scammer. You have my total respect and god bless you *Strongwidget* for helping as many people as you can. It seems so crazy that people fall for these things but then again, the elderly were raised in a different time before computers and before online scammers. I love the recovery's videos and the angry scammers and the hacking of their wallet but I absolutely love these videos where you help the victims in real time. I don't have much confidence in this scammer "coming to the good side" so to speak but I hope you come out with more ideas like this, stopping the scams with the victims.

Niki is brave to tell her story to the world. I recognised such a scam myself, the scammers spend a lot of time building trust and connections. Seeing Niki telling her story soothes me and affirms my belief that I did the right thing, really helps me walk away from it and stand back on my feet again.

I don't even trust people that I've met, lol! It takes years for me to build up trust. E.g. if a mere acquaintance asks if they could borrow £100, it'll be a "no" from me. I'd have to class you as a close friend AND be aware that they have a steady income and that they're good for it.

True. I always like to stay suspicious of anybody who try to get close to me without any valid reason. And I always tell myself that I don’t truely know someone until I lived with them for some years (in romantic aspect). For friendship, they aren’t going to be my close friends unless I know more about their background (parents, siblings, job...)

My mum is from a very different background. I disagree with her on a ton of things, but she has golden rule that she abides by: always draw the line on money. No relationship will ever be explicitly about money. Even gold diggers go by gifts. Technology gave us these scams but technology also shows us the reality of the world. I'm actually glad that I lost this "innocence" by knowing what the world is like. Noone can afford to be naive and not know the true horrors of fraud, scams, corruption, evil, war, greed, suffering etc.

I was going to invest $500 initially but to the credit of the funding company,they asked me 6 questions that they wanted honest answers before processing the transaction. That's when I got cold feet.

Thanks for sharing your story. God bless you. My brother is going through this scam right now and has already lost nearly 150K. I am literally telling him to cut his losses but he is in denial. The platform is requiring him to pay 20% out of pocket to get his money out, which I know he will also lose because that's how the scam works. They are going in for one last kill before his account disappears from the platform. And it is driving me crazy to see that he will lose additional money because of his gullibleness. He is going to have to declare bankruptcy because he put in all his life savings and borrowed 150K. There has to be a special place in hell for these scammers.

What happened in the end? There are lots of scammers on here, don't trust them. Your brother also needs to be careful of being contacted directly in the future of promises to recover his money. I hope he stopped as soon as possible, as they just make the victim continue by promising false hope. Where are you from? You may be able to claim it back, but my knowledge is in the UK.

Dude it'll be one thing if we're talking about a child that's maybe 17 or 18 years she's almost 25 years old and this and she had nobody in her life that could give her common sense advice to stop this come on dude $400,000 almost a half a million there's no way in the world a real person would do this to her that is legit, if it was a real person looking for emotional connection in a relationship and he's already asking her to invest in cryptocurrency and he only talk to her through Texts, that's another thing about this generation nobody wants to talk on the phone everybody want to text and work through different social media platform apps nobody wants to be real dude he took advantage of her naive she always said that she doesn't know nothing about cryptocurrency so why would you start talking to somebody on a dating app that turns to financially investing that's a red flag and he didn't want to even see her on the video all she saw was a eyeball dude come on, and people like this is not even one person, this is a group of people usually in Southeast Asia.

So so sorry what u and u dad went through! I had barely got scam too. A guy come on what up. Tried to scam me the same way u were scam I drop the phone on him as soon as he type bitcoin I drop the phone and block and delete him. He also wants to teach me Isis not give him any money . I hope with God blessing u and your dad can forget it and move on u are beautiful and young don't let it affect u anymore. In my twenties I was scammed into joining an MLM by someone that purported to like me. I watch this now seeing how all the signs are obvious from the outside but when you’re in it, its easy to be blind to whats happening.

I was almost scammed by a guy disguised as a French man. This video really opened my eyes to this type of scam. I am so thankful for this video to make me aware

So sad to see her get scammed so badly. She is such a good girl. I guess I was lucky at a young age. While a teenager at my first job, I lost a weeks pay to a con artist, back than it was face to face. That money, was allot at the time, but it taught me a life long lesson. Never to be scammed again. The lesson I learned was very simple, when something is to good to be true, it always is. Greed is what gets people scammed. That’s the honest truth. Money doesn’t grow on trees, you have to work hard for it. 😢

I feel bad for her because she was obviouly very naive, but I feel even worse for her dad. This man worked hard all his life and he cannot even enjoy the fruit of his labor in his later days. On top of that, he had to watch his wife become an alcoholic and die young, and then, his daughter burn to the ground everything that was left. He had a lot of composure and dignity in that video. I can see that he is a strong man. I wish them all the best. I hope Nikki can work her butt off to try to make up for what happened. Get rich quick scams don't work. Work hard, save, and invest reasonably.

she was not the smartest person in the world. Kissless 24yr old virgin ... easy to predict she would give everything to some stranger online. She destroyed her mother's legacy and gift, and destroyed her father's retirement AND STILL says it was not her fault 5:55 ! What an evil daughter.

A person at her age with 400k - could of invested it with a Financial Advisor and by the time of her retirement could of had around 5M or more. It's very sad that she was scammed out of a very secure and financially independent future.

What’s even scarier is that these scammers will also use AI tools to build an Instagram page. I learned the hard way but thankfully I caught on. Looked way to legit and the account even had a blue checkmark which no longer means anything because anyone can now buy a checkmark. Lost $1500 but better than losing that amount of life savings. So moral of the story, if you want to learn crypto, it’s best to do personal research and learn to trade. These scammers also do the Forex scam too.

My god, I have had scams attempted on me so many times and not from dating apps, from regular places like selling on Etsy, interactions on Instagram, applying for jobs, and every time I catch someone I ask them how they sleep at night and they always say "Great!" Humans, are so low...

I was scammed exactly the same way and the same M.O . Unfortunately, I did not realize until I lost a very large sum of amount which 75% belonged to my 15 coworkers and friends. Needless to say, I am now stuck in a very large debts that I would lose my house and everything my wife and I worked for in 30 years. I would never be able to pay the amount that I owed to my 15 coworkers and friends. I reported my case to the local police but the a..hole looked at me and smirked like how stupid cam you be to loose that much money. I reported my case to FTC, FBI, State AG and US Secret Service but I got no support. My bank closed my account when I reported that I was tricked to wire the funds to Hong Kong bank accounts instead of helping me recovering the wired funds. There is no help from any law enforcement agencies. No one cares.
