I was 15 when this was released and my friend was 14. She always had a thing for Bryan Ferry and his music, but I just couldn't see it. It's taken me an awful lot of years to realise she was right..

This song is a real cracker. Bryan Ferry is the man. A proper performer. Pure class. Awesome.

The sunglasses, the hair, the clothes _ it's almost 45 years ago! Even if the music isn't up your alley his sense of style is akin to time travel.

The thing is, he was considered stylish in the 70s too - the epitome of cool, wealthy and sophisticated. That's paradoxical, given that he grew up in the north of England & his father was a labourer.

His look could be from 2023……. so cool and stylish … ❤

Arguably his best work, both musically and lyrically. A piece of work that connected then, and still resonates almost 50 years later.

@@barrycoad2080 Nothing wrong with being slow'n'easy. Those were far less neurotic times than today. A slow pace keeps the burn outs away.... Ask the Italians. Highway kings all to often end up in less pristine condition as before agains tress or walls.

Im not sure if this feeling is pure nostalgia but I was 11 when this song came out. Me my sister and little brother waiting for mum in the car while she went and done heroin. This song was played so much on the radio that we heard it all the time in the car driving all over the city pretending to fall for the lame excuses of why we were travelling seemingly to nowhere... but we knew her game. I get angry alot thinking about the stupidity of it all but then realise that she might have been the angel we needed to stop us turning into junkies. I get pretty mad sometimes and not remember that but when I do remember I want to tell her how much she was loved. She got off 'h' and we had her another 20 years. She is still the most wise person I have ever meet. And I love her.

Builds up nicely, kicks in, develops, guitar solo, superb back up vocals and lyrics that tell something more than ooh I loove you oohhh I need you (yeah-yeah). Top notch, deserves millions of thumbs up and a spot on "The Best of Roxy Music + Bryan Ferry".
