Bryant Terry cooks up more than just cuisine. As a chef, cookbook author, speaker and food justice activist, Terry uses food, art and culture to change attitudes about healthy living and the benefits of a plant-based diet.
The James Beard Award-winning chef became interested in the food justice movement after studying the Black Panthers' free breakfast program for children as a graduate student at New York University.
Now a chef-in-residence at San Francisco's Museum of the African Diaspora, Terry shared his career journey with Senior News Editor Maya Pope-Chappell for #HowIGotHere, a series spotlighting people with unique stories to tell about their paths to success.
