It's not mentioned in the video but Bryant 4 and 23 were ejected because they left the bench. Stepping on the court during a melee is an automatic ejection, even though they didn't do anything.

I see nothing wrong with the big Syracuse guy defending his teammate. I see nothing wrong with the Bryant guy slapping the smaller Syracuse guy. It was all started by the small Syracuse guy thinking he could slap the dude and walk away like nobody would retaliate. He put himself and his big fella in a bad situation. And before anyone responds with "but the Bryant guy shoved him first". That "shove", what nothing. The ref saw it and did nothing. Little pushes like that happen every other play in basketball.

There's a difference between retaliation and self defense. If he slaps you and continues to stand there trying to hit you, THEN it's self defense. But if he slaps you and walks away, it is retaliation if you hit back. Just let the ref deal with it. Now if the Ref had NOT done something about it, then there would be a valid complaint.
