When AB was in the pound-for-pound discussion. Had he stayed 135, disciplined and managed well, he would’ve been the biggest draw in the game till this day. Imagine 2013 Weight Bully AB vs Lomachenko?

Floyd does get hit with good punches. Cotto busted his nose, Mosley rocked him, De La Hoya had him wearing shades on post fight interviews. This is boxing... You will get hit in contact sport

There's no KO at this level of fighting. Money is great at what he does, but this is boxing Floyd will get hit with punches. You dont go into a ring thinking, "Im not gonna get hit tonight" Yes, Floyd is very smart. But you to say Floyd wont get is crazy. Cotto gave a bloody nose. Hatton had him wearing shades during the post fight interviews. I love Floyd too, but damn people be dicking riding for free...

Sometimes in boxing when a fighter throw a punch and a fighter goes down its not from a "KO punch... Its the punches you dont see coming that floors you. We hear fighters say this all the time, "I didnt see that punch coming"

You got to realize AB sparred 2 previous opponents before he got in with Lydell.. and he still manage to keep going. Floyd Sr had to stop it at the end when AB started pressuring him 11:32 .. Adrien is not a Local nor State or National but WORLD CHAMPION. I would not bad mouth no champion but only show my respects no matter how cocky he may seem to be. If you don't know what a champion is go look it up. Put on some gloves and go see what it takes before you talk like you know boxing.. Other than that that's all i got to say. good video..

AB is a different fighter than Floyd. He has more power and is more aggressive. For folks saying he gets hit, thats cause he stays in the pocket more, for better or worse. And thats what people want to see. What he doesnt demonstrate in footwork (or in some folks opinion, lacks) he makes up with power, hand speed and combos. And for everybody trying to knock him for not dropping Malignaggi, Paulie is not exactly the easiest person to find. Paulie is a pretty good boxer with excellent footwork and a helluva chin. Cotto couldnt even stop Paulie. AB not dropping Paulie is more of a testament to Paulies chin and toughness than it is to AB's supposed lack of power. He has power. AB gone be straight and he's only going to get better.
@irandleIV
@irandleIV 10 жыл бұрын
***** after watching the fight, I agree. He definitely will have to realize that trying to be a tough guy and stay in the pocket with a hard hitter like Maidana is not going to be successful. He seriously needs to bring Floyd Sr or Pernell Whitaker into his camp for defense and footwork training. He'll have to realize that he's just not big enough to be able to trade shots with heavy punchers like a Matthyse or Garcia or even a Provonikov.

@daryllsantos6332
@daryllsantos6332 10 жыл бұрын
irandleIV I think he has great footwork, but he just chooses not to use it. In the lightweight division, he was able to use his power and catch/counter style as his supposed "defense" because people would be so cautious to not be hurt by his power, but when he rose to welterweight and fought Maidana, who was unafraid of his power, he couldn't use that same strategy effectively. I think if he decides to move around more and use his flashy footwork more, he will be good. Broner is too naturally talented to go on a slump.
@irandleIV
@irandleIV 10 жыл бұрын
daryll santos he's athletic but i dont think he really understands angles and whatnot.he has very good balance and is nimble and light on his feet, but he doesnt, in my opinion, understand range and angles when it comes to hitting and not getting hit or at least minimizing the shots he takes. he would just stand there and take guys shots as a lightweight because he knew he would eventually knock them out. That wont work as a welterweight tho...as he found out
@TheTexasBoy
@TheTexasBoy 10 жыл бұрын
Adrien is talented, but he definitely needs to improve his defense. The shoulder roll did not work for him at all against Maidana. People see how Floyd never gets hit and they think they can just copy it but Floyd does so many little things that most people don't notice to make himself really hard to touch.

I think broners taunting is to mask his lack of confidence. Doesn’t want to look like he’s taking it seriously, so if the other guy is more competitive than should be expected, he can just say he was only playing around. Even when Broner did try to lay it on him he wasn’t as successful as he wanted to be.
