Love your content dude. These moments are so scary. When you get sideways at that speed it's all instinct! I had a very similar incident at Sebring in May. My oil filter backed off and oiled down my front left caliper and rotor and when I got into the brakes at 130 at the braking zone at turn 7 Sebring I went into a right hand spin. I counter steered and got the car coming back to the left, but unfortunately I had a wall instead of a grassy corner 😭 RIP Shelby. I went into the wall at 90mph according to telemetry. You did a great recovery! This hobby is exhilarating because it's dangerous.

Dude I am so happy I found your channel, a year ago I was a back street public road douche. Your channel is and has been extremely eye opening(along with losing my license😩) but in all honesty I just want to track when I can get back. Don’t know how I’ll do it but no way am I abusing the public again.

funny I used to do the same thing. I wanted to push even harder than I already was on back roads to the point where it would have been reaaal unsafe. quit before it got to that point and hit the track, haven't looked back 👌 you can push infinitely harder on the track, it's not even comparable

But too young to track while living with my parents, but definitely taught me what I need and gave my a pretty hard snack on the head early that most(much needed)😂 keep it up man! Using all of the track at that turn is important to get a better turn-in. I go toward the curb slightly diagonal rather than riding the edge of the tarmac for the entire braking zone.

thanks I have actually! I think I put around 80hrs in on ac just drifting. fun fact I actually wanted to get into drifting but decided to try out track days first and haven't looked back lol

Yeah that turn on lightning can catch you. The long slow right-hander going under the bridge, then straightening briefly to hit the brakes before the left-hander. I almost did the same thing, got a little too close to the grass before hitting the brakes. There was a little dirt on the track, and my rear started to go around.

If you feel the car unstable under braking (like your back is moving while you're braking hard before you go into the turn), maybe you could add a little more bump on the rear. Happy to see nothing happened

nice glad you're enjoying it! I do merchandising for a tire company. I've never played it since I'm on PC, but can't go wrong with iracing. I started with ac first and as I got better I started to notice some of it's issues then switched to iracing

my pb is a 1:18.5 on firestone Indy 500. I just switched to kumho v730 and that lap that I spun I was on pace for a mid 1:17

Also, why not stopping and cleaning the car on the pit? That dirt was going on the track, and I think that can be dangerous. Here in Spain, when something like that happens, there is a red flag to clean that dirty part which can be dangerous and once is clean, session is restarted. This does not happens in all the tracks but it does on good tracks like Jarama, Jerez, Barcelona...

thanks man! this lap I was on pace for a mid 1:17 before I spun. between that, traffic, and losing a session due to a Corvette blowing up the best I could do was a 1:18.9 that day I think, which is slower than my previous pb lol
