Gotta love John Fogerty and CCR. I grew up on them. John is a phenomenal guitarist. Gorgeous BSA. Love the color scheme on the gas tank. My Dad used to tell me about BSA's, and how popular they were, in the years that he bought his Kawasaki 2 Stroke 350 and 500 triple streetbikes. Sharp looking bike.

I remember my dad talking about Triumphs and BSA's of the 1960's! Really was a cool time to get into bikes. Thanks for sharing your stories!

Great into music, Creedence C.R. .oh yeah. These bikes got thrashed trying to keep up with the better engineered competition, but this one escaped, new carb sounds jetted right on, save for a tweak down the tickover obvs. Ken didn't want to stop! Our Queen is dead but reigned long.

Ken, I have a 2022 klr 650, I really am looking hard at those Icon Elsinore 2 boots. The mx boots I bought are hopeless for shifting. Do you think the elsinores are flexible enough? Thank you in advance Kap🤝

The Starfire was my second bike ..so easy to work on and the engine had so few moving parts ..great noise too...I wish I,d kept it .

Chris Farrow This was also my second bike. It was a great looking bike with a lovely sound. I upgraded to the slightly more powerful BSA Starfire in 1967, after part exchanging a 1965 Honda s90, which had a full fairing, and had taken me to St Ives in Cornwall from Hartlepool UK. Took a day and a half, sleeping overnight in a car park in Gloucester on the way down, and slept laid on top of my bike in a bus shelter on the way back. I'm now 74 and six years ago got the bug again and bought a Honda Silverwing 600cc scooter which I kept for a year before deciding to hang up my crash helmet for good.

@@chrisfarrow7584 Yes great memories. Rained nearly all the way down, when I got there my hands where blue off the gloves, and my winklepickers had stretched to double their size, like wearing a pair of oversized wellies. Also after three days I noticed my face starting to look blue, yes my mother had given me a blue towel without washing it first. lol. Enjoy your riding, stay safe.

I bought one exactly like it brand new. I used to terrorize the neighbors with it. It has a compression release & if you pull it, twist the throttle a couple of times then let it off, it will backfire & throw a nice flame out the pipe.

I usually just can't stand bloody music drowning out the sound of the bike on a video, and just turn off straight away. But that's a great track, and fitted in with the loud and slightly wild nature of a 1960's BSA mini hotrod, so I stuck with it and really enjoyed it. I've always liked the B25 Starfire since I was a teenager, and finally bought one when I reached 50 several years ago after owning and riding many British and Japanese bikes from the 1970's and 80's. A good Starfire is quick for a 250 although relatively fragile, but not all of them blew up because many of them have survived to this day. Anyway, next time I saddle up and fire up my 1969 Starfire I shall have this track ringing in my ears as I blast off into the distance in a shower of noise, revs and vibration.......yeeeha!

Yep you're right, but that is also true of many other old British bikes when compared to Japanese bikes back then. Japan have made many really good bikes, but they also made many really great 250's for us to fly around on in our youth.

I'm 65. So what. Try to buy something from that era that runs. At that time comparable on the market. A 250 Honda or Yamaha. 3 times the price. People like you need to get real. Check out the prices before you diss.
