Is it possible to take a second facial scan without the cheek retraction with the patient smiling then align/specially merge the two facial scan "layers" objs?

Hi, Michael! Tks for the tutorial!!! I'm trying to import a .obj face scan, but I can't put the align point on it's surface... No matter where I click, the points go far of the model, like an offset... Have you gone through it?? Tks in advance!
