500 ° C .... why not more xD Such a temperature is very easy to make popcorn from the chip. With the preheater set to 130-150 ° C (additional probe on the bottom of the board), desoldering the chip with free PB is max. 280 320 ° C. For tin with PB max 220 ° C. And under no circumstances should you undermine the chip !!! It's a great idea for breaking the pads along with the paths.

@@jedrula77 Something called a ground plane which sucks up all the heat so more is required to actually desolder. That is a damn CPU he is desoldering so yeah more heat. Even with an actual preheater it needs more than 280C to liquify unleaded solder. Some boards like an Xbox one or fat PS3 the ground plane is super thick. More copper requires more heat.

@@B9NE Just need more flow not insane heat for big heatmass areas. For big chips amd fat PCB always use infrared preheater 150-170 or if no flash chips even 190°C(mount aditional thermal sonde from back) and heat infrared. High temps easy can popcorn first or ever depper layers in chips... and googbye welcome Total destruction inside chip. Best ways before desolder big chips is first dry motherboards 24h 100°C for give chance to escape humidity from layers.

internally they are the same unit almost exactly. the parts like fan etc are even the same on both. i own both and they perform nearly identical in use there is also a mod board available for the best which makes it honestly way better

@@QuickishFM It allows you to directly change the temperature and the air flow with two knobs and on top of that, it turns off that infernal beeping noise. That is worth it in itself. The source code is available so you can modify it if you know how to program.

Will going in with 500 to 550 degrees celcius to remove newer models Iphone cpu shield remove the shield quicker than using a lower temperature without damage?

Not a perfectly fair test. The board was preheated by the quick. Try again the other way.

I've been reading the comments.. quality is not determined by power. BST is 250W more powerful. But which one will last longer? which one has more accurate temperatures? this is what determines quality..

Hi, I have got a question about the best. I need the 220V version of the station because I live in Europe, but only the 110V version of the station is available. Is there any difference in the station besides the cable? So has the station both support for both voltages or has other hardware to be installed in the respective station?

Your test is irelevant because the board was already preheated by the 861DW.

WTF man, you kept 500 celcius for 3 minutes with quick 851dw...!!! Then you used the Best?! I will never change my Quick 861dw for no crappy Best. Quick was used for more than 5 years in repair shops and didn't fail..

Best is at best a copy of QUICK and is good only if you like to play with touchscreens. Pros prefer Quick.
