I have been teaching in Engg colleges for more than 36yrs, took retirement from academics two years back. I have seen students from Kerala and Maharashtra. One thing what you said is correct, students who join engg not of their own accord will find the going tough, eventually they lose interst and fail. The style of teaching learning process in +2 and engg are totally different. Many students face difficulty in adapting to this change. Systematic study is very essentil in engg.

I always vouch that the first year classes of Engg has to be handled by veteran faculty who has vast experience in teaching, then only the freshers can be given proper guidance and orientation towards Engg. In the present final and final years you don't have much teaching to do, just guide the students on the right path, they will learn themselves.

കാര്യം വളരെ സിംപിൾ ആണ് padichale പാസ്സ് ആകു. പഠിച്ചവർ മാത്രേ പാസ്സ് ആകാവൂ. ഒരു ദിവസം പഠിച്ചാൽ പോലും പാസ് ആകുന്ന ഒരു യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ആണ് ktu. ഇത്രേം simple question paper ഇടുന്ന വേറേ ഒരു യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഇല്ല

They are going for jee coaching. Still they don't have base in maths. They don't concentrate in their studies and don't work hard for exams. Last minute studies and no proper teaching in the college. More into politics which leads them to go for strikes... Can lead to poor result.

Passion will not work in Engineering, Maths, or Physics. Passion works in MBBS, Nursing, Veterinary, and Agriculture. In Engineering one need solid mathematics knowledge, abstract learning skills, intelligence, and problem solving skills. Handwork, mugging, putting long hours work in MBBS, NURSING, VETERINARY, and Agriculture; but not in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
