Saturday will be a monster day in the combat sports world, most notably because of the #boxing world as for the first time in what seems like forever, an undisputed heavyweight champion will likely be crowned as Tyson Fury battles Oleksandr Usyk for all the marbles in Saudi Arabia. With such a high-stakes and fascinating matchup, what are the biggest questions surrounding it?
On an all-new edition of Between the Links, the panel will discuss their most burning questions heading into #FuryvsUsyk, what would be the more interesting result, and who needs the victory more. More people talking about Buckley for that awful call out, but its working. Doubt media would even talk about him if he asked for a reasonable bout. Look how quick people moved on when JDM called out Shavkat

Cause JDM vs Shavakat made sense. The media loves callouts that are stupid. In their mind Conor was a stupid call out. I know he gave the media Burns in his scrum. If he did that from the word go, I dont think the co main event would have been called out. Buckley did what he had to do to win it.

Dana White didn’t care that Buckley got on the mic at the UFC presser and asked to headline St. Louis. He was literally laughing when he said we’ll wrap it up and he gave an interview (either w/ UFC, ESPN or BT Sports) where he was asked about it and he said he loves fighters that are like that and praised Buckley for being the type of dude willing to fight anyone anywhere or whatever. Now, post UFC St. Louis maybe Dana doesn’t like Buckley, who could say, but the narrative that Dana hated the 300 press conference move is just not true.

I set in the 300 section for ufc STL for $95 a seat, that same ticket was $225 all the way up until the Thursday before fight day

I wonder who 'Revisionist History' Jed Meshew had as the HW champion just before Jon was injured training for his 1st title defense & Aspinall was coming off of a W over Tybura & nowhere near title contention but for Jon's injury? I forget, but he probably still had Francis as HW champ i.e it can never be Jon. Makes u wonder where he'd take this if Blaydes beats Tom?

Jed is correct. Aspinall is a more legitimate champion than Jones who beat one guy with a giant hole. If Blaydes wins, which he has a chance bc he's good, he's my HW champion. Jon Jones is just making a detour in HW for 2 or 3 vanity fights. Meaningless unless he defends against the top.

Attention is currency and the “worst callout ever” is garnering more attention than 95% of post fight interviews. You’re blinded by emotion if you don’t see how that’s a positive for Buckley.

Not a great point saying Butker is a good example of not all publicity being good publicity. His jersey is #1 selling and when this all blows over (which it will) way more people will recognize his name. Buckley made a dumb move and pissed off Dana and people of power, as well as wasted a great chance to call his shot. But he's all over the media and people are talking about him, publicity is good although the way he got it was by ruining an opportunity and he could have created better publicity
